What HO SAID over phone ??
Over the phone, they are just callcentre staff, they are just reading to you what you can read yourself online on HO site. They can not help you with anything or advise anything. Thats what I guessed from talking to them and thats what one of them told me straight. Its waste of time to call them.
Jotoia is right. They don't tell actually tell you anything. They didn't tell me that my passport was dispatched so I was surprised when I received it later in the afternoon.

If it is more than 10 days, call and tell them why its really important for you and leave your details for a callback (although I was told it would be after 72 hours). They do pass on the message because I actually received a call that same day but that was also probably because they dispatched it days ago and I called saying I didn't receive it yet.....

Also, for anyone interested, I requested return of passports (05 Oct) which arrived by courier (10 Oct) in less than a week.

hi guys,

probably this is my long waited last post as we received today RC for husband!!! We had a joint application for my registration certificate as well. We received my registration certificate, all the documents back (including copies!!!) and a letter stating my husband's RC will be delivered in 10 days on 10/10, dated 8/10. And today courier delivered his RC, also dated 8/10.

I must mention that we have requested our marriage certificate back using online form on 14/09 as we were thinking of travelling with COA (my husband had requested his passport back in July and received it in 10 days). And we received our marriage certificate on 8/10, letter dated 6/10. Did it trigger the RC decision? Did the caseworker pick our application from his/her drawer to get our requested docs and then started working on it?? You never know the HO misteries.

We are both employed professionals. We have been married for 2,5 years and moved to UK in March.

Good luck to all who are still waiting!!!

MariannaUK wrote:Hi guys,

I'm still waiting for a new biometrics letter with correct name information. It's been 10 days now since I sent the first e-mail noticing the misspelling and asking for a new letter. Since then, I sent a few other e-mails and a mail letter. No reply whatsoever.

So frustrating. Does anyone have any suggestion on what to do?

I sent my application on September 22th and have nothing so far.

Thanks,
Marianna
Hi Marianna,

I work for a customer service through e-mail, if the HO have a similar system and you keep on emailing them, your first contact is going to go down to the last place in the queue. So every time a new email is received, you end up being the last one replied.

Maybe try calling them, to see if they can help you.

My Husband's timeline:

Applied: 21/07/15
COA (w/o right to work) & Biometrics: 01/08/15
Biometrics submitted: 12/08/15
RC: Pending

My husband is a US citizen, living in the UK for over 6 years as a student, we were married in June this year, he has a full time job as a Veterinary surgeon as his student visa allows it, but his COA does not, so when his visa runs out on 30/10/15 he has to leave his job :( we have sent other documents to confirm this, how they are taking away his livelihood that he worked so hard towards with uni etc etc, doubt they'll change their minds on the COA though I'm afraid.

We also wrote to our local MP as we have read that this has helped in some cases. To be honest, we can cope with the wait for his RC, it's the refusal of his right to work on his COA that is going to really mess our lives up.

We'll see...

Robert

Why did you get a COA with no work right if you had applied as married couple? They should have issued COA with work right.

Yeah we did not understand that, we provided our marriage certificate and wedding photos, videos etc, we've since provided our work contracts, wage slips. We also moved house and sent proof of that, they changed our address for sure as we got our docs back to that one when we requested.

So we sent another letter recently asking why he was refused when we are married.

Did you send original documents? The other only reason I know for not getting a CoA with right to work when applying as a married family member is because the applicant provided copies, not originals. This is what happened to LaliVallejo, who I think was going to withdraw the application and apply again this time sending originals.

All documents were the originals, we didn't send copies of anything :(
Maybe we should register a complaint on top of the latest letters we've sent?
We provided our original passports, his original student visa, original wedding certificate, original letter from HMRC with his NI number for working, original bills/bank statements etc for address proof, wedding photos etc.

In that case, you have the right of a CoA with right to work. I would follow the advise from several other members of this board:

You can send them a mail and ask for a new COA, to: nweurocoarequests@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
In the email include your case id your, passport no, date of birth and name. Do let them know that as a married applicant they have issued you a CoA with no right to work in error. That should work!

My husband e-mailed that account before but got no response, however after seeing what he sent, it did seem a little like a ramble and he only put his Case ID. I'm much more "official writing" minded so he's had me doing the letters haha, so I'll e-mail them again with all the info you suggested and hopefully they will pick up on it.

I appreciate the help, there's just so many pages to this thread I wouldn't know where to start for advice!

Thanks

Chaps,

Just received my COA with right to work (though my employer is very loyal and trust that I have this right just by the fact I am married to EEA citizen, which is true obviously) dated 12 October 2015.

Now long waiting begins...

Good luck everyone!

Best regards,
Anton
