Finally in UK <Please help EU-1>

Post by runie80 » Sat Nov 17, 2007 12:57 pm

Hi Everyone.

Once again I am turning to "house of wisdom" looking for help.

Me and my wife has arrived in the UK.
we travelled through ferry as we had quite a lot of luggage.

My wife is Polish national and myself Pakistani National.

I obtained EEA family permit from UK embassy in Ireland which is valid till the end of DEC.

What I would like to know is

Am i right in saying that

My wife has to register for WRS <workers registeration scheme>
I have to apply for EU-1 and EU-2 forms

Do i have to register on WRS too ? or am i free to seek employment ?

Also does my wife needs to have a job inorder for me to apply for EU-1 or EU-2 forms ?

Also Is it ok for us to look for a job without NI number ?

Any help will be appreciated.

I just want to make my mind clear.

I will much appreciate.

Kind Regards

Feel free to ask any questions.

I also applied for EU-1 in ireland but i didnt wait for their decision as it sounds like a time wasting idea there.

runie80, your wife will have to apply for the WRS using the form found here After it has been approved, you can apply for FMRS using the form found here.

Thanks

Vinay & Docterror

Much appreciate your help.

We are just trying bring some normality into our lives.

I have one more question.

My EEA family permit is expiring on the 24th of December.

we arrived here on the 15th of November.

What I understand is that my wife should find job and then I should fill FMRS once she is registered on the WRS scheme.

What I want to ask is if my wife don't get a job as we are not quite settelled and if she has not got a job by the 24th of December.

What options do we have ?

Can i extend my visa based on that she is self sufficent ?
or
if she start studying ?

What forms do I need to fill ?

I will much appreciate your expert advice on this.

Thanking you again for your valuable advice

* i am posting from internet cafe so apologies for mistakes and poor posting format :(

runie80, I am not too sure whether failing to register in the FRMS in time will make you an overstayer as I have not come across something like that. Had it been an EEA2 application, there would have been no harm in a bit of a delay. But, I will let someone with practical experience respond to your question specifically.

Is this correct? This person has an EEA family permit and is not allowed to automatically work in the UK?

If you are spouse of an EU citizen, then there is not much concept of "overstaying". You have a legal right to be with your spouse. Key thing is your spouse needs to satifsfy the transitionary regulations.
