Regarding Previous Earnings

Post by raviplus » Wed Nov 21, 2007 8:50 am

Hi,

I've planned to apply HSMP. I've two queries regarding HSMP.

1. Around 10 percent of my CTC are coming under Variable component.
ie., Based on company performance and individual performance,
Variable component should be paid at the end of the financial year
(April).

In this case, Shall i show this variable component as my
earnigs?.

If possible, What kind of documents i need to submit to
home office?

2. Other than my CTC, I got some client allowances (transfer
allowance) from the company. But, It's not shown in Wage slip. But,
It's available in bank statements.

is it possible to show this allowance also as my previous earnigs?

If any body knows or face this problem, Pls help me.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

For Previous Earnings, you need to provide the following evidence:

Option 1 (Best Option):
1. IT Returns covering the period of claim
2. Wage Slips from employer in an acceptable format.

The two forms of evidence should corroborate each other.

However, if you cannot provide any one of the above, you need to provide (Remember to ask for Exceptional consideration):

Option 2:
1. Bank Statements showing the Net Amount from payslips credited
OR/and
2. Letter from your employer
The evidence should corroborate each other.

And if you can produce neither the IT Return Nor the Payslips, you have to provide both (Remember to ask for Exceptional consideration):

Option 3:
1. Bank Statements,
AND
2. Letter from employer
The evidence should corroborate each other.

Since the allowances you mentioned do not form part of the payslip, I believe you should rather produce a letter from your employer stating the amount earned during the 12-month period of claim, in addition to your IT Return that corroborates the letter from your employer.

However, if you cannot provide an IT Return (which is normally the case), you should go for option 3 above, and provide both your Bank Statements AND a letter from your employer. Think may well be the best and only option in your situation. Also, Remember to ask for Exceptional consideration.

The caseworker will ignore any amounts not mentioned on your payslips.

As long as two evidences are provided to support your in safe boat. In your case

1) the variable component if already earned should be there in your payslip. If it is not in your salary slip you can show your appraisal letter which mentions your avariable pay. In this case you need to explain in a seperate letter why it is not included in pay slip.. But be sure that it mentions it has been already given and not sounds as promise to give in future.

2) if it is not in pay slip better not claim that. If you are very particular about claiming it, then only option is getting a letter from employer / client about the detailed allowance for each month.

I want to show my client allowance as previous earnings. It's not mentioned in my pay slips. but it's available in bank statements.

HSMP Guidelines mentioning "We will not be able to consider any allowances paid to you that are not declared on your pay slips".

is it possible to claim my client allowance under exceptional case?

Thanks in advance.

No, as it is not on your payslips.

Hi,

Thanks.

Some of my friends are telling, "It's possible under exceptional case". for that, I need to produce a letter from my employer that gives details of those allowances for each month. is it possible?

Read the guidance notes. I don't think it will, as 'allowance' is not likely to be taken as salary unless it is on a payslip and tax is being paid. You are taking a risk.
