hi apache,

Yes the decisions are coming real fast recently.

Dont worry, a fast decision mostly means approval if you go by the decisions mentioned in the thread(bhumi, pavan and myself.)

Keep us in the loop.

Congrats HSMPpune , pavan andeveryone else..who have got approval...
Looks like a lot of people from pune university..have applied at teh same time..including myself..
hsmppune wrote:Bhumi and Pavan congrats for your approval.

I found the answer to my query above in the guidance document:

"You or your representative may request
reprints of HSMP approval/refusal letters from us
to correct errors such as spelling mistakes, or
incorrect details such as mistyped names or dates
of birth
. Requests should be made in writing and
accompanied by the original permission letter.
Reprints will be marked ‘Duplicate’ and will be free
of charge once your written request and the
original permission letter have been received."

I am not sure if this includes spelling mistakes in the address, and it would be nice to hear about any similar experiences from other members. I would specifically be interested in:

1) How much time does it usually take to get back the approval letter in this case?
2) Does HO take the responsibility of sending back the letter, as in the case of initial application?
3) Any other aspect worth noting in this regard.

I am little scared to let go of the approval letter. What if I do not get the revised copy in time for the EC application?

Senior members please comment.

Thanks and Regards

Another approval

Post by serggry » Wed Nov 21, 2007 10:09 am

Yesterday I got my approval i.e. a strange letter from HO stating that "they are able to approve the application". Anyway I hope it is it.

My progress:

Documents Sent to Home Office: 08/11/07
Application received: 09/11/2007
E-mail received with reference number: 12/11/2007
Application approved: 13/11/07
Documents received: 21/11/07

Very quick and it is a bit strange. I am worrying slightly. Probably now the EC is more important for them as they can verify more detail.

Thanks again to all the forumers for your wonderful support. Will meet in the UK! Hopefully!

Update

I received a mail today stating decision was made on my application on 20/11 and documents sent through airmail. Fingers crossed it is good news. They have said - allow 12 weeks for airmail to reach destination- how long does it normally take to reach Chennai?

Good luck with your decision.

Going by the updates on the forum it should not take more than 3-4 days to reach Chennai. As you said, keep your fingers crossed:).

I applied on the 20th Nov. How do I get the reference number from the Home Office? I have not recieved any email from them, and when I called the HO, I got a message that applications of 16th Nov are being processed.

Incosistent status

Post by maverick18 » Fri Nov 23, 2007 4:09 am

Yesterday, I got a reply to my status query from Home Office which mentioned that a decision was made on my application on 20 Nov and documents dispatched. But when I called them, they said that the e-mail was sent by mistake and my case is still under consideration. I am confused. Has anyone faced a similar situation before?

dependant visa

Post by HSMP25 » Fri Nov 23, 2007 4:34 am

Hi all,

I got my HSMP visa stamped a couple of weeks back. I want to process a dependant visa for my wife so that I can take her with me while I leave to the UK. Please can anybody let me know what are the procedures to apply for a dependant visa. I have no idea on that. How much money do I need to have in my bank account ?? what are the documents that we need to submit for a dependant visa ?? I dont have an offer from any of the UK companies, is that mandatory for us to hold a job in the UK if we are processing a visa for the dependant ??

Please can anybody clarify my doubts. Thanks in advance.

I am planning to send the HSMP application by courier.

I have confusion about to which address the application need to be sent, because

1. In HSMP application form they have given the address as

Work Permits (UK) HSMP
PO Box 3975
Sheffield
S1 9BL

2. And in HSMP guidance document they have given

the following address in point no. 25 - Procedure for Applications Received

Border and Immigration Agency,
PO Box 3975
Sheffield
S1 9BL

and the following address in point no. 44 - Application sent by courier

Border and Immigration Agency,
7th floor,
Fountain Precinct,
Balm Green,
Sheffield,
S1 2JA

Its APPROVED :)

they had sent the docs by airmail. thats why it took time to reach me.
here are my timelines

Application couriered: 6th Nov
Application Recieved: 8th Nov
Credit Card Charged: 8th Nov
Reference Number received: 13th Nov
Decision taken and docs dispatched: 13th Nov
Documents recieved: 27th Nov

Thanks a lot to all for your help and guidance.

Please note that I didn't receive any mails from them informing that decision has been taken. Its quite surprising. I had requested them for informing me once they are done so that I could arrange for a courier pick-up. Anyways good that all my docs are in shape :)

SEP 28: Application Sent
OCT 01: Application reached HO
OCT 01: Fee Debited
OCT 03: Got the Reference Number
NOv 26: Decision
NOV 28: Documents collected by FedEx

Finally a decision has been made on my application after 2 months. Will get the papers by 30th Nov. Will update the forum about a decision once I have the papers. Since my application went for a verification process I am not very confident about the success. I have mostly seen Denails for case that go through verification. In fact I haven't seen even one out-of-country case where the application was approved after verification.
