recieved acknowledge & bio req 12 Aug
Bio done 21 Aug
Recieved letter 18 November....still waiting for the certificate though
We have now recieved the certifcate. It arrived this afternoon - 18 November

I would like to say it might be helpful getting the background to my story. If you read my previous posts you ll get the full gists but i will summarise it here
My hubby and son all legal residents. in Oct 2013, i was 9yrs 2 months plus - applied for FLR 7 yr discretionary as our son was 7 yrs plus. it got declined, went thru FTT, UTT (application and hearings were thru solicitors involving thousands of pounds) . Whilst waiting for the decision of the UTT (they delayed in sending their decision by 3 months) i applied for my ILR (oct 2014) as i was 9yrs, 11 months and 2 wks.
UTT upheld HO's decision and hubby and son appealed to the High court. My ILR got approved in March 2015 and now my son's MN1 has been approved.
I know that my God that has done mine and my son, would complete my husband's and that of everyone else waiting and trusting GOD.

Edit... it took 2 months in total...not 3 months as I wrote earlier.
SJ307 wrote:I just received both certificates today (18/11/2015). It took 6 weeks from Biometrics and the overall process time is 3 months.

SJ307 wrote:I got my ILR (through 10yrs) on 14th August and applied MN1 for my son and daughter (both born in the UK). Here is the time line:

Eligibility criteria: section 1(3);
Method of application: NCS Bracknell
Date of application:14-09-2015
Date of receipt by UKBA: 24-09-2015
Date of debit of fees: 25-09-2015
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 26-09-2015
Date of Biometric: 28-09-2015
Date of receipt of approval: Awaiting
Date of receipt of documents:Awaiting
Date of receipt of registration certificate: Awaiting
Date of Post Received : Awaiting

Before looking at this forum, I was thinking the whole process will take few weeks as it is fairly straight forward, compared to other immigration applications. Now I know I have to be patient and wait for things to happen. But, my general feeling is that HO taking 6months for this process is ridiculous, especially while charging application fee of £749.
In other immigration applications, when they say the process can take UPTO 6months - but the majority of the applications get processed in 2-4months and only few cases take 6 months. In this particular application (MN1), the majority seems to be getting their results in about 5-6months. That is a clear indication that HO treat this application category as low priority. But, this delay affects every single family involved. Is there anything that can be done to flag this up?

Please don't post your US Biometric query in other topics and please keep to the topic/thread you already have. Most of these MN1 applications are for those made within the UK.

I didn't post a biometric query, I asked if anyone else was applying from the USA. The process is extremely stressful and it would be nice to know others in the same situation for support, shared info and commiseration. It appeared that others were asking MN1 questions in this thread so I wrongly assumed my question was acceptable.

I apologize for my mistake.

I was referring to this post of yours, link below

http://www.immigrationboards.com/britis ... l#p1271022

This thread is for timelines of applications and generally not for discussions. The link below is the general discussion one, although not many people apply from USA that I have seen in the year I have been on the boards.

Oh okay I'm so sorry. I'm completely confused about what and where I can post so I'll go back to just reading.

Please just delete the topic if you can.

No worries. You can post for discussion in the second link I provided and post your timelines of the process in this one. If you have additional questions on the same application, post in your original thread you started and it will be bumped up to the top again for comment by members.

Hi Ali ,
I have also applied on 4th Nov through NCS Hounslow for my 3 yr old Kid .
The Fee hasn't been deducted yet but I am hopeful that it would be deducted coming week based on the time line posts in this forum as most Fee deduction is between 15-20 days after application submission.
If you get your fee deducted pls let me know and I will also share if my application progresses to next stage.
Cheers
Anand

jagb70 wrote:Hi,

I would like to ask for your assistance. I am currently waiting for my son (4 years old) British Naturalisation (MN1 Section 1(3)) to be processed.

My wife and I are currently living in the UK with an ILR. My son has no ILR and his tier 1 dependant visa expired in July 2015. We applied directly for the British Naturalisation.

We need travel in December 2015 and visit an ill family member. We are afraid we might not hear back from the Home Office by that time. I have been told that my son will not be allowed to comeback to the UK on our return form the trip.

After a number of calls, emails, etc to the UKBA, Home Office and Heathrow Border Agency, I was told that he needed entry clearance to come back to the UK. The problem is that no one seems to be able to answer what sort of entry clearance. Visitor? Family Visitor? I just do not know.

I have thought of applying for his ILR as last resource and pay £ 1500, which obviously is very costly. However, I wonder if I am on time to do so. My son's Tier 1 Dependant Visa expired in July 2015. Will he be penalised for it? Can we still opt in or his ILR?

I know there are number of questions in my last few lines. If some one can provide some light with his experience or knowledge, I would really appreciate it. The officers I have spoken to in the HO have not been able to provide an answer. I think they are junior officers, that do not really understand the case. I am trying to contact my local MP, but have had not much luck.

Eligibility criteria: section 1(3)
Method of application: Postal
Date of receipt by UKBA: 17/08/2015
Date of debit of fees: 27/08/2015
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 27/08/2015
Date Biometric letter received: 03/09/2015
Date Biometric given: 05/09/2015
Date of receipt of approval: 18/11/2014
Date of receipt of documents: 18/11/2014
Date of receipt of registration certificate: 18/11/2014
Finally done!! I think HO has been working towards diminishing the waiting times. At some point it looked like all applications were being resolved between 5-6 months. Fortunately, mine ended up taking 3 months. Having said that ,not sure whether it had an impact, but I wrote letters to my MP. The MP office inquired about my case. However the response they got was that it could take up to 6 months. After a few days I had the registration certificate back. Good luck to all of you waiting.
