Eu 1 No response plz help!

Post by LisaP » Wed Dec 30, 2015 5:48 pm

Hello everyone,
My husband (US citizen) and I ( UK citizen) have been living in Ireland since May 2015. We applied for EU1 application and were supposed to get a response on Dec 25th but nothing yet. My husband emailed them and got a response saying it will take a further 4-5 weeks for a decision to be made because apparently they are behind. But I don't get it they had 6 months. Is this lawful? I am thinking of contacting solvit about this. Or should I just wait till I receive a response in 4-5 weeks.
We want to apply for a EEA FP to go to the UK. Can I just apply now while waiting for the decision? Thank you all in advance

Hey aligo,
Yes mine was exactly like yours. It was due the 25th of December. My husband decided to email them a couple of days before the due date to remind them that it was coming up. I think yours should be in the mail soon so hang in there.

Yes he emailed them right away. Especially because I believe I read this on these forum somewhere from Obie I believe. That if you let them get away with a little then they will try to get away with a lot. So my husband was emailing them constantly throughout the process. The last emailed he received a few days ago said that it would take a further 4-5 weeks to make a decision. He got in contact with solvit just to make sure things were going smoothly. But it arrived a few days later after the email. If you haven't emailed them yet then I suggest you urgently do it.

Happy for you Lisa.

I have been dealing with the justice department for many year.

Thank you Obie, your post have been very helpful throughout this process. Your our hero!! :).
The next step of the process the EEA family permit seems more difficult and confusing. The online application just seems like they just mixed up the questions. Any idea of what we should do next?

Just a quick question
Is there anyone whose temporary stamp has expired and they havent heard anything from the EU treaty rights yet ?
My visa has expired and i am thinking to goto the GNIB with my wife to check how much longer are they gonna take. is this a good idea ? because whoever has sent them e-mails were getting their replies in 5 days and the answers were similar which was you will get a decision within due course.

I don't think I will have missed the post. Normally they would leave a card through my door but nothing has been left and it is only four working days. If I don't get it by tomorrow I will email them again I think

As expected they replied to my email in barely three minutes and said that due to volume of applications in hand it may take 2 to 3 weeks before a decision is issued. it means they havent taken my decision yet. i am surprised on such a quick response. :)

I applied for my parents EU1. Application date: 20/08/2015. They were given temporary stamp around 24 november. Deadline date 19/2/16. temporary visa until 19/3/16.
Its only a week or so left before deadline is over. I have emailed INIS and got a generic reply that it will be processed in the due course. I was wondering if someone has received there decision recently. Was it within the deadline or was there any delay.
