EEA (QP) Registration Certificate times

Post by apocalypse » Thu Jan 14, 2016 1:27 pm

Back in December I applied for a Registration Certificate as an EEA - used form EEA(QP)

I was wondering what are the time scales for processing the application. I thought it was a straight forward process but i received an email telling me it might take up to 6 months. Is this a standard email? Does it take that long?

Here are my processing times so far:
09/12\15 EEA(QP) Application sent
10/12/15 Received
16/12/15 Money Taken
08/01/16 email received "your application has being received and is being considered"

Thanks

Hi,
We received the RC after 5 months and 12 days. Maybe because I applied for the BRP & QP RC together.

Hi apocalypse,

I have recently applied for a Registration Certificate as an EEA as well and I received a similar email.

I would like to check how long it took you to receive yours? I was under the impression that the processing time should be quite short, instead of being 6 months long.

Here are my processing times so far:
18/02/16 EEA(QP) Application sent
19/02/16 Received
23/02/16 Money Taken
08/03/16 Email received "Your application has been received and is being considered"

Hello guys!

Has anything happend to your applications yet? I have the following timeline:

EEA FM & QP sent together

Applications sent: 22.03.2016
Application received by HO: 23.03.2016

No payment has been taken still (I used Credit Card) and today is Good Friday). Probably from Tuesday on I will see something in my account. It is early though for something to happen to my application.

One question I have is: what is this EEA QP email about? Is it just to confirm that the application has been considered?

Thank you!

:)

I am still waiting for my application to be approved.

To Cogumela, I hope you will receive the email stating that your application is now being processed. All the best

Hello everyone,

I would greatly appreciate if anyone with similar experience applying for EEA1 could share their timeline here. I have waited for close to 8 weeks and have yet to hear back from the Home Office. Wondering if my application might have ran into some trouble....

Would be thankful for anyone who could provide some advice!

Hi All

App submitted: 30 July
Fee taken: 2 Aug
Confirmation received: 31 Aug

One key thing to point out. When I submitted my application, I included a covering letter asking for them to send my passport back asap as I was travelling. They completely ignored the letter. On the 22 Aug, I called the Home Office and they advised me to apply for my passport via the Return of Documents link on the gov.uk website. The SLA is 10 working days. Needless to say, my passport didn't turn up within the time, so I sent a follow-up on 9 Sep. I called them again this morning. The 10th (really 20th) working day is this Friday, 23rd Sep. I am lucky in that I can travel on my Australian passport and have been doing so with some difficulty as the Border Agency staff query it every time I come through LCY. However, I REALLY hope my EU passport is back this Friday as I have to travel through LHR next week and the non-EU queues are horrendous! There is no information about the return of documents website on the Guidance Notes. Here is the link:
https://eforms.homeoffice.gov.uk/outrea ... ments.ofml
If you need your passport within 3 months, I would strongly recommend doing this as soon as you receive confirmation of your application.

Just thought I'd add my details:

01/08/2016: Application submitted
03/08/2016: Payment taken
13/08/2016: Requested passport back
19/08/2016: Confirmation of Application
24/08/2016: Received passport
28/09/2016: Received registration certificate (dated 24/09/2016) and other documents back

So, the entire process took about 2 months, and I received my passport back within 10 working days from when I requested it. All in all I think I've been quite lucky compared to other people on here.

Unfortunately you can't. You may receive a Confirmation of Application email (although some don't). Apart from that, you just have to wait until you receive the Registration Certificate.

There is no SLA nor guarantee to even receive a confirmation.

Expect little or nothing in terms of status/updates and certainly no hand-holding (from HO).

hi,
i sent a application to home office
1- qualified person (eu cit)
2- residence card for family member (non eu)
3- registration certificate for child of QP
4- registration certificate for child of Qp

we have got email confirming that they have receive their application and being considered.

my concern is:
we applied for 4 person, but we receive email only for 3(eu cit) and for non eu no confirmation email or letter.

is this normal.
