Tier 2 Gerneral - ILR Query

Post by 1664 » Fri Jan 15, 2016 3:46 pm

Hello All,

I had a question on my ILR application please.

I came into the country with Tier 1 general migrant visa since Jan 2011, entered the country in March 2011 and started work in July/August 2011.
Then I got shifted to tier 2 general in 2013 up until now.

so the question is

1) when can I apply for the ILR
2) and, should I have been living AND working for five years or does my 5 year clock begin from when I entered the country .i.e. March 2011?

Thanks a lot in advance.

1 ) you can apply for ILR in 2018 , ( the same month in which you got Tier2)
2 ) your 5 years clocks start from 2013 when you got Tier 2 General

Are you sure its 2018 and not 2016?
In other words my Tier 1 will bot be taken into account for the 5 years period?

any other views?

thanks,

I am in the similar situation as 1664.

I think you can apply for ILR from the time you entered the UK i.e March or may be 28 day before the date of entry. Your stay in country on tier 1 general counts for your 5 years continuous residency.

Senior expects please comment.

Kindly ignore my previous msg ,
Yes you can apply For ILR, if you have previously issue a tier 1 General Visa, For more info check the following Link
Hope this help.

The 5 years can include time in the UK on another visa if it was one of the following:
any tier 1, except Tier 1 (Post-study work) or Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur)

you can combine your tier 1 and tier 2 and are eligible now.
As you entered within 90 days of issuance of your visa, you are/were eligible from 28 before the date of first visa date of validity, probably sometime dec 2015. so you can apply now.
