Eligibility criteria: 3 yrs spouse of BC since arrived on 25th March 2012 in UK
Method of application: Royal mail special delivery sometime on april last week
Date of receipt by UKBA: 15 May 2015
Date of debit of fees: 16 May 2015
date of biometrics: 20 may 2015
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 20 Oct 2015
Dae of original docs rtn: 20 Oct 2015
Date of receipt of approval: ??
Date of Ceremony: ??

Other Updates :
20-Oct-15: Letter received states,' HO has made errors giving mistakenly citizenship to people in Dec 14 and please note that should your application for brit citizenship be successful the certificate of brit citizenship which can upto another 6 months & do check the details as given on the attached pages', which is name and details.
This is so poses taking , WHAT IS THAT GOT TO WITH MY APPLICATION?
Am so drained out with this 'no service department' and left with no faith in them. am not what this means and this has come through MP's office as I stretched to them after 6 months
Please any expert who know how to tackle this situation & long this is going to take more

Called HO again today and got the same response, not decision has been made yet. I asked if my application has even been looked at and his reply was yes, that why it has reached to that stage ,and when i asked which stage.. he said we cannot disclose any information.

I have not clue what could be the outcome, starting thinking about worst cases..........

How do they tell you when you call HO? Coz whenever I call they take details for someone to give a callback within 3 days....Called them today again same thing they took detail for someone to call next week. Most probably few of us who are stuck now have their case with same lazy caseworker.

viki, yes, i call them around 11:00 PM today, they took my details and called me back around 1:00 PM. That is when they told me about my application.

I have also asked my MP to contact HO again to find out the situation.

Child application should not take more than 4.5 months. All my friends who applied for their children got approval around 3 to 4.5 months.

Very odd or is it a coincidence...I also applied on 27/04 reached HO on 28/04....I am 100% sure our application is with same case worker who placed it in some cupboard and forgot it

Finally received much awaited approval letter today i.e 29/12/2015 dated 17/12/2015. Applied on 27/04/2015.

What a ballsup by HO. REPEATEDLY. Their inability, combined with ineptitude, slathered with lack of accountability, and then sprinkled with incompetence, led to a simple application taking nearly a whole year.

After the approval in November, they sent my file to some godforsaken part of the planet where I don't live. It took nearly 3 months to retrieve it. Then when it got back, they lost it again. Took over a month for the council to find/receive my certificate.

Answering communications and complaints is also right at the bottom of their list of priorities. With the exception of my case worker at HO, and the registrar himself at the council, the average time for a response was always in excess of 2 weeks.

But, all things being equal, I have my ceremony in 12 days time. And this mess comes to an end. I hope the passport goes quicker.

I see now they are trialling simultaneous applications for naturalisation and passport together. Which just makes sense as one automatically leads to the other, and duplicate processes are just a waste of resources. Maybe there is hope for HO yet, but I remain pessimistic after my experiences.

Good luck to all you folks still waiting from April last year. Fingers crossed. Holding thumbs.

April 2015 STILL BEING PROCESSED, but as of TODAY I got my letter saying my application has been accepted and I will get the ceremony invitation letter sometime in the future... Just three weeks past ONE year!

Eligibility Criteria: UKM
Method of Application: REGISTERED MAIL USA TO UKVI Liverpool
Date of Sending Application: 5 April 2015
Date of Application Delivery: 8 April 2015 (received USPS return receipt)
Date of Debit of Fees: 20 AUGUST 2015 (Credit Card) - it took 4 months.
Date of Receipt of Acknowledgement: NEVER - got a letter in SEPT 2015 stating biometrics in USA unavailable; first time I had actual contact.
Biometrics request: NEVER
Passport and my birth certificate returned in October (?) 2015 with no information on status
Learned that there was an email address to send to about biometrics, did so, got a biometrics letter by email around 8 DECEMBER 2015, allowing me to go to Toronto to do them.
Biometrics Submitted: 15 December 2015
Request to return my passport BACK to UKVI 4 April 2016
Returned passport 14 April 2016
Date of Receipt of Approval: 25 April 2016; letter received (along with return on mother's birth certificate) 30 April 2016
