no work without national insurance number

hello,i have a question I was hoping somebody here could help me with-my wife has just arrived in the uk on a spouse visa and is looking for work online,on application forms it asks for a national insurance number ;she doesn't have one as she is from Moldova.is there a way to get a number so she will be able to work?

Have you googled: apply UK NI ?

thanks,ive sorted that now .another question-can I register my wife at the local doctors for free ? we got our visa before the £600 health surcharge became a requirement
