Tier1 General ILR Checklist (Help Needed)

Post by shanuk » Sun Apr 10, 2016 10:57 pm

Dear All,

I am planning to apply for ILR through PEO appointment in May 2016 (Next Month). I am getting confused about ILR requirements as many of Tier 1 (General) guidelines are not available anymore.
Need your help to be prepared:

Briefly about myself,
Initial Tier-1 General Application Granted: 10/2008 (Did not started residing in UK until 2011)
1st Extension Application Granted: 11/2011 (Previous Earnings: Overseas Salaried Income)
2nd Extension Application Granted: 12/2013 (Previous Earnings: Salary+ Dividend from UK based LTD company)
Applying for ILR: 05/2016 (Previous Earnings: Salary+ Dividend from UK based LTD company)
Expiry of Current Visa: 12/2016

My ILR documents:
Application Form – Set(o)
2 photographs
Passport – Old & New
Biometric Residence Permit card
Life in UK Certificate
English Language Test Certificate (As points based calculator cannot be used to proof English)
Pay slips (12 Months)
Personal Bank Statements (12 Months)
Accountant Letter – Confirming Gross & Net Income
Company Incorporation Certificate
Company Shareholder Certificate
Dividends Voucher

Wife Tier-1 General Dependent Documents List:
Application Form – Tier-1 Dependent
2 photographs
Life in UK Certificate
English Language Test Certificate
Marriage Certificate
NHS letters
Electoral Letters/cards
Joint Bank Statements
Yearly council letters

Photocopies: [both for me & my wife]
2 x sets of copies of every single document

Please guide me if I should provide or carry any more documents? Also if it is better to send my application by post or to go to PEO?

Thankful for your help.

Looking good although for yourself I would recommend also submitting,
* invoices
* business bank stmts
* contractual agreements with agencies / clients.

For your wife is she applying for ILR as well or is she extending her Tier 1 dependent visa ?

If she is applying for ILR then you dont need a seperate form and you will fill her details in the single set(o) form.

If she is extending her leave as a pbs dependent then she need not submit life in uk test certificate and UK Naric stmt. Other documentation for cohabitation looks good. Also note there is a maintenance fund requirement if she is extending her dependent visa, which isnt the case if she is applying for ILR.

PEO or Postal is really your personal choice. PEO will give you an instant same day decision and you can be over with it rather than wait weeks / months for a result. Also it gives you an opportunity to clarify any questions or reasonably straight forward clarifications to the case worker if need be.

Postal application if you have the time and patience and nerves and are looking at a £1000 savings.

Good luck.
Cheers,
OR

Thanks O_Relly,

My wife is also residing with me since I started residing in UK. We will be applying for her ILR also on the same form.

I will also add invoices and business bank statements but do not have contractual agreements with clients. Clients take my services on invoice basis.

2 more queries:

1. I live in London, seeing my case which PEO office would be recommendable?
2. What is SA302 as seen several places on the board, do I need to also send that?

Croydon would seem to be a good choice for self employed folk as they seem to have experienced case workers to handle SE applicants.

If you or your accountant have filed your self assessment every year, then it is possible for you to request this for the last 5 year period from HMRC. It will have details of taxes paid, dividends received and bunch of other data such as any tax pending etc.
This is usually good to have in hand to prove that everything is in order.

Hi O_Relly,

I am trying to get an appointment of Croydon office for after 10th of may on wards but appointments are not available after 7th of may until 15th June.
Also noted that we can check for up to 2 months only. When the new day adds, it also shows that no appointment available.

Please guide if there is any specific procedure which can help in getting the appointment.
Also for my case which option could be the 2nd best option so i can start checking that one too.

Thanks

The current guideline says you can book upto 28 days in advance here(click)

Not sure why you aren't seeing any, keep checking. If you search the forum there are people who have different opinions about other PEO/PSC centre's. I have read Sheffield is good, but can't vouch because I don't have personal or first hand information about this.

Dear Geriatrix,

My previous query is already addressed and new query is different then the previous one.
I feel that if we will not have correct line of a topic then query will never get the right audience.

If you want remove the previous topic as it is already addressed.

Dear Malik,

Thanks for your response.
Please if you can put some light on the documents of 1st address as GP letters are without date of issuance and electoral registration letters are of 2013. Can I use these letters?

Thanks & Regards

Re: Tier1 General ILR Marriage Certificate

Hi All,

I need to know that do we need to submit a marriage certificate for an ILR? My wife is on my Tier 1 General Dependent visa since beginning and we got 2 extensions too.

Our marriage certificate is non-English, I have an old translation of it which I submitted earlier to get a 1st Tier1 general dependent visa and subsequent extensions. If I have to submit a marriage certificate then can I give the old translation or get a new translation done from UK based translator?

I am in process of completing the same form and no where it asks for marriage certificate.

Why do you have this confusion, have you gone through the form and is there a point where you think there is a need to submit marriage certificate?

In my opinion it is not needed.

Jacob

Dear Geatrix,
Thanks.

Dear Jacob,

It says on the form that you can submit a marriage certificate or cohabitation proofs but most of the times everybody is submitting both.

I would request, if moderators can shed some light on it. Thanks
