Yes, this is pretty strange - happened to me too. They didn't give me any receipt or any tracking ref when they took my passports. So I called them up later with my GBRL ref and they confirmed they have my passport. They sent it back with the OCI booklet in around 3 days anyway.only-one-king wrote:Hi. - Indian Origin Proof - Scan of Surrender Certificate will suffice.
- Naturalisation Proof - Scan of your Naturalisation Certificate and Scan of photo page of passport.
For minors, you also have to include other documentation, such as their birth certificate (especially if born out of India), parents marriage certificate, and also their passport surrender certificate if they ever had an Indian passport.
The "Select a document type to upload" dropdown will have some options like current passport, indian origin proof, indian visa etc. I uploaded my passport surrender certificate under "Indian Origin Proof", and current passport + naturalisation certificate in one PDF under "Current Passport".
For my child I uploaded our marriage certificate scan under "Marriage Certificate", and birth certificate and passport surrender certificate as one PDF under "Indian Origin Proof".

Had some doc missing for above thus the delay. Please send VFS email periodically to ask about your OCI application.
Embassy tried to call me but i had no calls or voice mail. It is only after i sent email to VFS i got the information regarding missing docs.

This is the receipt VFS gives you when you apply for the OCI the first time. It refers to the money you paid for the service. Normally they staple it to something.mia24x7 wrote:Hi all,
