Hello all,

This forum has been really useful. Just thought to post my timeline in case this might be of help to anyone. This is my 2nd period of FLR in the UK after an initial period of 33months:

Submitted application (Special delivery) - 5th May 2016
Application received - 6th May 2016
Acknowledgement letter sent -10th May 2016
Application Fee deducted - 9th May, processed on the 10th

Received another letter on Friday 13th May 2016 (dated 11th) requesting for biometrics
Also enclosed was another letter stating I has filled out the wrong version of the form, which was really confusing, because I was sure that I printed out the right version, only to check and realize that the form was updated on the 4th and then on the 18th of April (who does that???? only the UKVI :|) and I had printed out the form after the 4th of April, filled it and sent it a month after without realizing the form had been updated.

Anyways, printed out the latest version, filled it out and sent it off (special delivery) first thing on the 16th, which was received on the 17th of May

Also sent off biometrics on the 14th May

Received another letter on 28th of May, requesting for a letter from both me and my partner's employers stating our current positions, period of employment, salary earned. They also stated that they need to make a decision as "promptly" as possible and the documents should be sent by the 9th of June. Also included was the direct case worker's address. I had only included payslips and bank statements as proof of myself and my partner's employment and pay in the initial application, but I guess this did not suffice.

Sent off additional information on 1st June (special delivery) received on 2nd of June.

Approval letter and document were returned on the 3rd June and I received them on the 6th June.

BRP - Received just now! 7th June 2016 12:09pm

All in all, it's taken just over 4 weeks, so if you are still waiting, just keep calm and trust God :)

Obviously I can say this now because I got my docs back, but truly I was just panicking for nothing. If your case is straightforward and all evidence is provided, you will receive your approval eventually.
Congratulations, our Lord is able. Trusting him too for my wife and son's 2nd submission after the initial 2.5 years. Still waiting since March 2016 with 3 documents sent back after application over the past months from requests by the Home office. :D
Thank you! I'm sure you will get your wife and son's documents soon. Just a matter of time. Looking forward to hearing your good news :)

Thank you. Is this by DX couriers or just Royal Mail signed.

Please could you let me know how your passport and documents required? Royal Mail signed.

Hi everyone!

I have a quick question, we got a letter yesterday saying they needed bank statements, despite having pay slips. We sent them off the same day we got the letter but it wont be seen until Monday. Does this impact the waiting time? We are going away in August and still need to book our tickets.

Timeline:

Sent:

Confirmation and biometrics letter: April 27
Letter about NHS surcharge fee: April 27
Biometrics done and fee paid: May 3
Letter for bank details: June 10 (sent the 8th)

The letter we received yesterday mentioned June 22 which would have been the 8 week marker and we were hoping to have it back by then, or at least approved. We have a straight forward case and sent exactly what we sent last time (pay slips instead of bank statements). Should we still expect the 22nd or is time added on now?

Fingers crossed mate, we had 3 letters requesting for extra documents from HO . Bank statements, signatures, passport (which was included in application ).
This delayed approval from March till June 2016.
Applications were straight forward for wife and son then too.
Home office officials cannot be predicted.
Some are just like slugs. Very slow in acting.

Wish you luck but careful booking an early holiday.

Final Update:

Received documents and BRP card.

From my experience if the case is straight forward you application will be in the queue until that 8 week mark is reached then only you application will be allocated to case worker.

If you don't recieve the application after 8 week write a letter rather then phone.

Again if the application is straight forward you should get the visa within 70.8 days ( this was mentioned in freedom of information published by home office ).

Be calm and wait. Hope this helps

Congratulations Krishna and all who have received.
I don't know what to expect. It's been close to 7 weeks and there has been no letter requesting additional information so I don't know whats going on

Hi All,
I am new to the forum. I applied for the FLR(M) unmarried partner on the 7th of April. The IHS payment requirements happened to change on the 6th of April. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of this. I was sent a letter on the 21st of May and paid promptly.

Applied: 07.04.2016
Payment taken: 13.04.2016
Confirmation and biometrics letter: 15.04.2016
Biometrics done: 16.04.2016
Letter about NHS surcharge fee: 21.05.2016
Payment of NHS surcharge fee: 23.05.2016
Outcome: Still Waiting (10 weeks)

Our application is fairly straight forward. Is anyone else experiencing similar delays after a late NHS surcharge?

Starting to get a bit panicky, and just about to give up on my holidays booked for the 9th of July...

We applied for an extension of FLR(M):

Application sent 19 March 2016.
NHS surcharge paid before application, number included on the application.
Payment for the form taken within a few days.
Biometrics letter about a week later, biometrics done within a couple of days.

Nothing back until letter arrived 26th May (dated 24th May) requesting additional information including sponsor's original passport [1] and more documentation. A bank holiday intevened, so passport, more supporting documentation, an employer letter stating need for urgent business travel and covering letters dispatched on 31 May and received by UK Visas & Immigration on 1 July. Sent off with a prepaid (up to 2KG!) special delivery envelope.

All documents received back on 14 July with FLR(M) approved for 30 months. BRPs to follow within a week.

So 11 weeks for an initial response, plus 2 weeks for a final response after including proof of urgency of the request.

[1] The form says a photocopy is sufficient, but be warned, they can request the original and if they do there is no way to change to an in-person application, you have to send away the passport. If you would have gone to an in-person premium service centre if you had to send your passport away, because you need it for frequent business travel, this will cause employer problems. Next time I have to do this, I will not be relying on the "photocopy is acceptable" part, and I recommend you don't either, especially if your situation is at all complex (no UK passport or anything similar).

I definitely feel like that is how it was for us.

It's a poor service for the money paid.
