PIO to OCI conversion

Post by rajesh9pl » Tue Jun 21, 2016 3:18 pm

Hi guys,

HCI has set the deadline of 28th June to convert PIO to OCI free of cost. I have filled up online application form and I could get online appointment of 7th July, none available in June. This means I will have to pay full OCI fee £175.

Is there any workaround and trick I can apply OCI before Jun 28th? Any other suggestion.

Many thanks,
Rajesh

Good news: Check out following link for VFS in UK,

http://www.vfsglobal.com/India/UK/

which states:

The last date for submission of applications for registration as OCI cardholder by the erstwhile PIO cardholders has been extended till 30 December 2016.

Or even better - get the PIO card endorsed for permanent use and avoid frustration.

Thanks mehtapm. I too noticed this day before yesterday. Its really a good news for those still have PIO.

Or even better - get the PIO card endorsed for permanent use and avoid frustration.

Do they endorse PIO for permanent use?

I am will apply for OCI has its endorsed in foreign passport. For PIO, one need to carry booklet too.

Thanks and Cheers!

No need to spam whole forum with quasi promotional links.

You are new here - suggest re-read the Board T&Cs you read on registering.
