Did you go for the priority processing route? Please update if that is the case, because you got your decision in 24 days from submission while the rest of us are waiting for much longer.

I want my VISA on first week of September so I decided to switch from standard to priority service on 22-08-2016. I called UKVI many time for asking if I can switch but they denied all the time but when i sent email to Prioritypostalrequests@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk they said I can and I did.

Please do not forget to include the following details in your post:
1. Type of application: (Switching / Extending) Tier 2 Extension with same employer
2. If switching, category changing (switching) from N/A
3. Date of expiry of current leave: 14-10-2016
4. Number of dependants applying at same time: N/A
5. Date application posted: 16-08-2016
6. Date application received at UKBA: -18-08-2016
7. Date payment debited: 17-08-2016
8. Payment mode : Debit card
9. Acknowledgement letter received: After asking three times I received an email on 26-08-2016
10. Biometric letter received: 31-08-2016
11. Date of biometrics enrolment: 31-08-2016
12. Date of approval: 08-09-2016
13. Date of return of passport and other documents: 08-09-2016
14. Date (new) leave to remain valid from: 14-10-2017
15. Date BRP received: 12-09-2016

Thank you to everyone who posted their timeline here. I understood one thing this UK VISA is most stressful visa I have ever had in my life till now. Writing email to Prioritypostalrequests@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk was helpful but when you call UKVI number they don't know anything.
