Hi everyone. Currently (im)patiently waiting on my Flr(m) to be approved. This is an extension that I applied for as I already completed 2.5 years already. Here is my timeline:
Application sent: 21/07
Application received: 22/07
Awknowledgement letter received shortly after but can't remember the date. Payment also taken out quite quickly after we sent the application.
Biometrics received and completed: 02/08
Still waiting on everything else and haven't had any correspondence from HO since biometrics request. I'm very anxious as we have flights booked for September 2nd so we're cutting it close and I have a feeling we'll need to rebook. I based it on the fact that last time I applied it only took 5 and a half weeks and that was with HO requesting more evidence! Oh well...looks like the average time is about 7 and a half weeks at the moment according to these posts. :(

Biometrics letter & acknowldgement letter- 20th Aug 2016

Wanted to seek advice on my situation

Application sent - 18th March 2016
Application returned with visa rejection - 10th May, stating that I had failed to submit a few additional documents that were sought within a 10 working day period.

Shot a letter back with postal receipts, clearly showing the documents were sent on time and were received by the HO well before the deadline.

June 5th - Letter from home office apologising for the error and seeking the application back. (meanwhile the fee was returned).

June 25th - Application sent back and the old fee paid again.

Still waiting. In total, I've been without my passport for over 5 months now and 8 weeks since resubmission. What recourse should I take?

Thanks.

[quote="rachelinlondon"]Hi all,

I've been reading this so I thought I'd post my waiting times in case that helps anyone else.

I have a pretty straightforward FLR(M) application, nothing that should be complicated, my dates are:

Visa application submitted/sent: 17th June 2016
Payment taken: 21st June 2016
Biometrics letter received: 1st July 2016
Biometrics taken at a post office: 4th July 2016

Still waiting as of 11th August 2016.

Tomorrow is exactly 8 weeks since I've submitted. I called the home office help line today as I have a trip that I can't postpone on the 2nd of September and need to apply for a visa for the trip by 31st August at the latest. All they can tell me is that it hasn't been processed yet and presumably postage itself takes a couple of working days, so there's no chance I'll have it by tomorrow. I'm hoping it's just taking a few days longer than they estimated rather than someone has misplaced a key document or something else has happened to it...

--------------------------Update

I received my documents and biometrics card (in separate envelopes) Monday the 15th of August which is 8 weeks and 4 days after submission.

Looks like they are taking slightly longer than the 8 weeks. Mine was a very straightforward application with all criteria met, no children, married to a British citizen (in London), Australian background, my 4th UK work visa since 2009 and no complicating circumstances at all so I would imagine that it's just a heavy backlog.

Hi. We were told our case was straightforward - switching from fiancee visa to flr(m) cat A. We applied 3 days before you and it is now 11 weeks later. Each time we call they say they same the same thing: it's being processed and they don't know how long it's going to take. I don't know if I want to scream or cry.

Could anyone please tell me if this has happened to them.
Forgot to update.

23 July 2016 - Received biometric letter. Letter was dated 20 July 2016.
25 July 2016 - enrolled biometrics.

As of today no further communication. Waiting and hoping for no issues, UKBA are masters of finding issues and making our life a misery.
Update:
Return of documents & approval letter received: 31/08/2016. Dated 30/08/2016
Biometric card: waiting

Alhumdullillah took 7 weeks and 1 day for decision. You never know with home office so have been waiting nervously. But glad it's done. Now next stop ILR.

I would also like to thank all members of this board for all the help they provide. Due to this board I have had no need to go to solicitors as enough information and help is available for those who want to submit their applications themselves without the need to pay a fortune in fees. Considering it costs a fortune without the extra fees, it's very helpful for those of us with meagre means. Thank you again.

Hi rajauk,

What is the update of your application now? Did you receive any biometric letter?

UPDATE
Hello everyone!
We (my daughter and I) applied to extend our visas 2.5 years. My husband, who holds ILR is our sponsor.

10 June : Submitted Post application
13 June : Application received by HO
15 June : Payment taken
24 June : Acknowledge letter received. Dated: 17/06/2016
25 June : Biometric enrolment letter received
25 June : Enrolled biometric info at Post office. I could enrol mine but my daughter's barcode in the letter was not valid when scanning. :( Tried in two different Post offices but no success. Sent email to Home Office.
9 July : New Biometric enrolment letter for my daughter received. Dated: 7 July. Same day we enrolled her Biometric info. This time was ok.
3 August: Received a letter from HO (dated 30 July) requiring more documents about my husbands job and evidence to confirm that my daughter resided with us. :?
10 August: Submitted the evidence by post.
18 August: Got all our docs back along with approval letter for me. However, there wasn't any info about my daughter's case. I called the HO and they asked me to wait until I got the BRP cards to find out if my daughter's application had been successful
30 August: Reported not receiving the BRP cards on the website.
31 August: Got an email saying that the cards had been recently produced and that I had to wait other 10 working days!!!!!!
02 September: 6.45 pm. We finally got the BRP cards!!! :D

All the best for those who are waiting. See you in the ILR forums in 2.5 years.

Resurfacing my previous post. Looking at other members here, it seems the only recourse is an agonizing wait. But I wanted to know how does one retrieve the passport? (regardless of the HO processing it). It's been 5 months without it and I really need to travel in October.

For the FLR application, will they send back the passport and current BRP along with the Confirmation letter ?

After enrolling BRP, Is travel permitted with old BRP while the decision is made ?

I applied for an FLR(M) in the middle of July and still haven't received my visa. It's been 10 weeks tomorrow. After applying we got a biometric request for me to get finger prints at a post officer near by. I completed this within 2 days of receiving the letter. According to other posts here I should have received at least s biometric permit by now. I've phoned the 0041 number daily for the last two weeks and all I'm told is my case is still pending. Thru refused to refer my information to a case worker. In desperation I phoned the Sheffield number ending 0053 and didn't even know what a FLR(M) visa was. I have filed a complaint on the home office and have also wrote to Sheffield ( where my visa applications was sent) for an explanation. That letter was received by Sheffield nearly three weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything. Any advice or alternative means of contacting the home office would be great appreciated. I am truly shocked by the way this system operates. I am now looking at having to cancel my honeymoon as a result of the lack of communication with the UK home office. Please help if you can.
