unrestricted CoS allocation - time taken ?

Post by JG12345 » Thu Oct 06, 2016 4:13 pm

Hi I have a question

I am on a tier 2 general visa expiring soon
My employer ran out of CoS , so has asked for more and I believe this takes time.
I want to extend my visa and from your posts it seems that I require an unrestricted CoS.

I dont think my employer asked for an unrestricted one, can they ask for one now in October ?( some posts suggest April 2016 was the cut off for 2016/17)

Can I use a restricted CoS (if and when I get one)?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi JG12345,

I am on the same boat, I am going to extend my visa soon. And we need unrestricted not restricted COS.

My employer just added request for 1 COS allocation.

And like you said, I did read and found out that they allocated every year and I am not sure if we are going to get. Really worried.

Can someone please help and if possible JG12345 can you update if you know anything and I will do the same

regards,
dragon

Hi

No update unfortunately which is definitely worrying.
My employer has definitely not added any notes and it seems that does make a difference.
Will keep you posted.

Good luck!

Hi JG12345,

My employer called and they replied by saying that it will take 18 weeks. It is just like other members mentioned before. I have told my HR about the forum and that she will start calling and sending in few weeks time.

And the only way to find out if they have allocated us a COS is to by logging into SMS. My HR did tell me that she would check everyday.

Finger Crossed. I'll keep this posted and lemme know if anyone has good advice.

Hi drgn098

Appreciate the update , thank you.
18 weeks though! That sounds insane and not ideal if you want to apply soon.
When did your emplyer put in the request? is it 18 weeks from the request or from when you contacted them?
I will update if I hear anything but I guess there is nothing else we can do than than wait around ?

Thanks

Thanks

Hi,

My employer put in request on 11th Oct 2016 (yesterday) and she called today and they're saying 18 weeks. That's insane amount of time. My visa will expire in 7th of JAN 2017 and I am traveling in 2nd of DEC till 30th DEC 2016 that's why I wanted to finish my extension before December.

My HR told me that she would try to keep her eye on SMS and trying calling them again next week or so.

18 week to get CoS but only 12 within which we can apply ?
Its impossible unless the Employer started early!
I am worried

Hi JG12345,

Any updates on your UCoS?

I have not heard any news on it.

Do let me know if you have any news and when was it that your HR applied for additional UCoS.

Hi dragon098,

No news yet
Will give you an update as soon as I have one.

My HR called them up and I think there is a month backlog, hopefully all will get sorted soon.

Thanks

Hi,

My HR called on Friday 28th of OCT and they were saying they can't do anything (like always). But they did say that email helpdesk if visa is expiry date is equals to or less than 14 days then they will expedite but can't guarantee.

That aside, one member called Srick ( his HR applied on 7th OCT, his visa was expiring on 24th OCT and he got his COS on 23rd OCT).

And for Hopeforall9 (his HR applied in 27th SEP, his visa will expire in FEB 2017 and got COS on 25th OCT without his HR making any calls or emails).

My has been 20days lets see how it goes. How long has yours been?

Thats the thing, I was not made aware when they applied but I am fairly certain it is around three weeks back.

Hello friends

I am expecting my unrestricted COS in second week of december. My visa is till 30th december. What are the chances that I can get an appointment at the premium visa application center during the Christmas break and approximately what will be the time I have to wait for the appointment.

Thanks in advance.

Harish,

Hopefully, you get COS soon and to be honest the earliest I could get was next week and within an hour the next week slot was almost finished.

However, you have choice select other visa centers beside Croydon. It will be close call but I hope you can get it earliest if not you still have 28 days after your visa expire and you will not be called overstayer.

Hi can I ask what is the 28 days after expiration.

I have the same issue here: my student visa expires on 17th of Jan, and my employer will apply for COS for me next week. So there are not too many days left especially Christmas is around the corner. So my question is if I apply visa after my student visa expires, can it be counted as "switching from tier 4 to tier2" ??

Thank you so many!!

Zhuofan

Hi everyone in this thread,

Just a quick question. Have you received your Unrestricted COS yet? If yes, how long did it take?

Please reply.

Thanks :)

Hi everyone,
My TIER 2 VISA expires in July 2017.
due to extend.

Might be a silly question.
when my company ask for UCOS allocation, do they need to mention my new salary as well?

kind regards
kumar
