Hello all,

Just wanted to post an update on my timeline so those of you who are still waiting have the latest to measure against — I received my PR card yesterday. I'm from a Commonwealth country, married to an EU national. We were married before we moved to the UK.
  • Application Sent — 19 April 2016
  • Received by HO — 20 April 2016 (I never got an acknowledgement email, this was from the post tracking)
  • Payment taken — 25 April 2016
  • 1st phone call to HO — 31 May 2016 (It had been a month, I was expecting the biometrics letter)
  • Biometrics letter received — 2 June 2016 (dated 18 May, it appeared to have gotten lost!)
  • Biometrics enrolled — 3 June 2016
  • Phone call from HO — 6 June 2016 (crossed wires: they didn't know I received the biometrics enrolment letter)
  • COA right to work received — 9 June 2016 (letter dated 7 June)
  • Papers & documents returned — 11 Oct 2016 (letter dated 10 October)
  • PR Card received — next day 12 Oct 2016
Best wishes and good luck!

Hi guys , sent my application on 23 April, received letter 14 October to confirm the card will be delivered within 10 days. Received card on 22 October.
But it says on the card valid until 2026 . Type of permit : Permanent Residence.
Any idea why it is only valid for 10 years and what to do after that?

Thanks

Hello Everyone,

EEA (PR) as Non- EEA Family Member of EEA National with DCPR.

Here is my timeline.
Send application on : 21/04/16 (5 years marriage anniversary 14/05/16)
Ho received on : 22/04/16
Payment taken on: 26/04/16
Email: Never Received
Biometric letter Received on 19/05/16 Together with COA with no right to work
Passport Requested: 05/06/16
Passport Received: 17/08/16 after two emails and phone calls
Biometric completed: 19/05/2016
Documents Received : 22/10/16 with letter of approval dated 20/10/16
PR Card Received : 24/10/16 dated 20/10/16

My application has been a roller-coaster and this forum was very helpful through it all. I received COA without right to work even after sending my wife's DCPR with my application. in panic I sent further documents about my wife's work and emails requesting the right one but still no right COA.
Until recently while going through this site stumbled upon someone who received the same COA last year while applying for EEA2 and got it resolved by sending a compliant email. I did the same in September and it took the whole 20 working days for me to get a reply. The reply stated that my complaint was upheld after an investigation and that I will hear from them directly within 10 working days. 3 days latter the right COA was sent and then two days later letter of approval sent, PRC followed. I can now relax and my application took exactly 6 months on the dot.

Good luck to everyone else waiting to hear a reply and God bless you all

Congrats Sillycrab.
I'm waiting to hear some good news as well in the next couple of weeks.
Applicate sent on the 19/05/2016.
I don't know why its valid for 10 years but I know its just like your drivers license, you have to renew it every 10 years free of charge.
In any case if you are thinking of naturalization then no need for renewal once you acquire your citizenship.
There are topics on here with regards to that

All the best

Hi,

This is my timeline: EEA (Permanent Residence)

Application posted on : 22th April 2016
Received by HO on : 23th April 2016
Payment taken on : 27th April 2016
Bio letter received on : 2nd June 2016
Biometrics Enrolled on : 4th June 2016
COA With Work :14th June 2016

Documents received on 26 October 2016, but no letter saying whether my application was successful or not.
Has anyone receive documents only without any letter from HO? I also read on this forum that RC should arrive within 10 days after documents returned. Is that correct?
I am worrying now..... :(

Did they return your passport along the ducuments? Because if they did return the passport that means your application was successful, and if not then it's unsuccessful which means they have detained your passport.

hi nicelady,

They returned my partner's (EEA National ID card) but my passport (Non EU national) is not there. By the way this is our second application, we were refused on the 1 one. We received the refusal letter together with all the documents. Now we received all our documents back, but no letter from the HO. They kept my wife's reference letter from her employers. I don't know what should I do now?

Sound to me like they've detained your passport and that only happens when they've refused someone. Talking from experience cos same thing happened when I applied for my mum and she was refused twice and both times they didn't return are passport along other documents

I don't understand why they didn't sent any letter along with my documents. I will probably give them a call tomorrow. What kind of letter did you receive when you got all your documents back? Did RC arrive in the separate letter?
Thank you for your help!!!
