Passport for New Born

Post by tinkuhello3 » Tue Nov 22, 2016 11:01 am

Dear Expert,

I recently got my ILR in oct 2015 [From Tier1 general-primary applicant]. My Wife is still on Tier1(general) dependant and yet to apply for ILR.

My son was born in last Mar 2015 before I recieve my ILR.
Now I wants to apply for my son passport.

I found the link below:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.postoffice.co.uk/passport-check-send
Children (aged under 16)
First child passport (includes those who were previously on a parent's passport) £46.00 £55.75 [Passport fee, Plus Check & Send]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is the above link is appropriate and can I use the post office to apply for my son's passport directly without naturalization?

Many Thanks,

tinkuhello3

Your son isn't yet entitled to a British passport. You will first have to register him for British citizenship on form MN1

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... n-form-mn1

The fee for registration is currently £936

Children don't apply for citizenship...they register.
