Boilerplate letter.
Obviously FP not required from outside if someone still has a valid RC.

Any updates from any other Non-EEA who submitted their PR applications mid-late May? My husband is British (I'm from NZ), we've been married nearly 6 years in February. First granted access through Surinder Singh when we were living in Germany.

Our timeline:
Application sent: 25 May 2016
Application received: 26 May 2016
Payment taken: 28 May 2016
Biometrics letter received: 29 June 2016
Biometrics given: 30 June 2016 (after failed attempt on 29th ... avoid the post office in Acton)
COA dated: 3 July 2016 (can't remember what day it was received, but soon after this)
PR received: still waiting

Is it 6 months from the date of application, from the date of payment, or date of the certificate of application?

A friend generously (but unhelpfully) booked me a trip away for the 9th of December, and I'm not confident the PR will be back in time.

I am so relieved, ahhh!
I applied on the 11th or 12th of August, and I received my certificate today. The card was produced on 29th Nov. I am an EU citizen and I've been studying in the UK since I came here.

Hello all,

I received my Permanent Residency Permit today (EU citizen), with a letter confirming that I actually have had permanent resident status since 1996 (I arrived in the UK in 1991). This would cut out the 1 year waiting period if I decided to apply for British Citizenship.

Time line:

Application sent in: 5/7/2016
Money taken off account: 9/7/2016
Request for passport return: 9/8/2016
Second request for passport return: 25/9/2016
Passport received: 1/9/2016
Permanent Resident Card received: 1/12/2016

Good luck to everybody still waiting!

Hi,

I was hoping to get a bit of guidance.

I'm a non EEA citizen married to an EEA citizen, who has been exercising her treaty rights in the UK for the past 9 years. For the past 5 years, I've been on the EEA2 visa, which is due to expire next year. We've been married for just over 5 years and have been living in the UK the whole time, both in full employment. My wife hasn't applied for PR previously.

I was planning on applying for myself and my wife's PR shortly. A few queries:

1) Do I need to wait till my current visa is close to expiring (think I read 28 days somewhere, but can't remember where), or can I start the process now that we've been married for over 5 years?

2) Do we apply on the same form, or do we lodge separate applications? I would have thought the same form, as there's room to apply for family members, but I had a brief call with a solicitor, who told me that we should apply on separate forms, which to me didn't really make sense?

Thanks!

Hi everyone,
Do they send back the passport automatically or do we have to request it ? and how ?

I searched in the forums and in the HO website and I did not find the answer to my query (maybe I used the wrong words!)

I already received email acknowledging receipt of PR certificate application

Thank you
Max

first, welcome on board!!
1) what you have read about 28 days was wrong, and yes you can start the process as your 5 years period started from your wedding day, and not from the date of your RC was issued!
2) yes use the same form, why would you apply separately??

I will advise you to go and start digging :-), and whenever you are stuck come here for your question to be answered!
good luck! :-)

I collected my DCPR today. Yay!!! Thanks to everybody in this forum for the help and support!

Application posted: 19/05/2016

Just a quick question. I applied for the Permanent Residence card rather than certificate. I thought it would be a plastic ID-like card, but I received a blue paper document with a vignette of DCPR. Am I supposed to receive the card as well? I don't understand what is the difference between the card and the certificate (other than the plastic card being more practical).

Hi,

I hope someone can provide some guidance. I have a couple of questions regarding my online EEA (PR) residence submission for which I qualify:

1. I originally entered the UK as a non EEA citizen, however a year later I attained EEA citizenship through ancestry. In the online EEA form it asks for when i first entered the UK. Should I use the date I entered as a non EEA citizen or when i first entered on my EEA passport?

2. The EEA residence online form requests original P45, P60s etc. The company that I work for stopped sending paper payslips some time ago & I only have PDF versions exported from the payroll system. Is this sufficient or is it going to cause me problems with my submission. I would be interested to hear if someone else has done the same.

Thank you in advance.

I am still waiting for my permanent residence card it has been nearly 4 months, I am married to a British national as well but still is taking long. Any idea how long it could take?

I come from EU country. I have been living in the UK for 6 years.

I filled up the application, sent all the documents for the last 5 years . I made sure that all the details from the goverment guidance where enclose. some of them where missing like letters confirming employment.however I have added for each one of my previous employments alternative evidence(p45, contract of employment and p1).As well, I have added a cover letter explaining why some of the letters confirming employment where missing.

Application was delivered on 11/08/16 ( I sent it by special delivery day earlier)
Payment taken on 12/08/16 under reference EURO LIVERPOOL GBR
Email from HO 08/09/2016
Passport sent back 14/09/2016
Can I request my documents back without canceling my application ?

Hi Everyone!

I have just received my Biometric Enrolment Letter. According to this I must check that my details are correct before going to the Post Office. The Application has my maiden name even though I submitted my married name on the forms, furthermore the name that appears on my current valid passport is the married name.

Does anyone know if this is normal, if the default is to take your birth name? or should I get this corrected before going to the post office?

Thank you for your help... although I've just started this process, I've posted my timeline (so far) below:

- Application Sent: 16/11
- Application Received: 17/11
- Payment taken: 18/11
- Bio Enrolment Letter Received: 7/12 (dated 4/12)

It can take up to 6 months (or more).
No benefit or speed up due to British spouse.
