Passport for child + WRS

Post by Orsolya » Tue Nov 01, 2016 4:57 pm

Hi!

Our daughter was born in Sept 2016 in England. We would like to apply for a British passport for her. We are Hungarians. I called the passport office and they told us, that we need to send them the WRS registration too. I told them, that I don't think we need to send the WRS if my husband qualifying 5 years start after 2011 May. They said this is the policy...

Our WRS registration is not complete, so she will not get the passport if they will look at the things before 2011 May.

Does anyone has experience about it? Can they really ask for WRS? Should we try and apply or not?

Thank you.

If PR for at least one parent can be shown to have been acquired on or after May 2016 and before the child's DoB then all should be good.
