If you have fulfilled all the requirements of Ent visa then dont worry.

While in AR, section 3C covers your stay and if its positive you are through.

Yeah, that's what I understood, please wait for others viewpoints on it..... because we're not experts, but discussion definitely helps a lot.

Doing everything slowly (e.g. biometrics at the last day) should buy you time. I am not sure if you can vary to LR during AR, I assume you can, so applying AR last day also helps. Also you can aplly ILR 28 days before the ten years (I think)

But if you actually did the T1e criteria (clearly many don't care only do it to buy time) you should be fine

If you have all the documents and fully eligible, I suggest to apply a week before the expiry of your visa.
The Tier 1E extension will at least take 2-3 months to be decided if your case is not complex. If you are refused, you get to apply for AR and wait for the results which covers you under section 3C. Even after this you can apply for ILR 28 days before completing your 10 years in May 2017.
I am quite confident your application will not be decided by May 2017 and you should even be able to vary the extension application to SET(LR) directly.
Advice is given based on my personal research and experience only. Do NOT contact me via private message for immigration advice
