Is original marriage certificate mandatory for minor's oci

Hi All,

I am about to submit oci application for myself (British by naturalisation, originally indian by birth) and for my 2 yr old son (British by birth). My spouse and other child are still to process their British citizenship.

Query is about my son who is British by birth and minor who is eligible for oci through parent. I see on. VFS website one of required documents in this case original marraige certificate. However in immigration board forums I find people mentioning only self attested copy of marraige certificate.

Hence wanted to know if original marraige certificate is to be submitted along with selff attested photocopy (plus other docs) or original is only for verification by vfs person and only photocopy is taken.

Since the process takes nearly 8 weeks and documents go to India, I am not keen in submitting original marriage certificate as it may be lost in transit. I have only one original also my spouse will head it for citizenship.

Hence anyone who's case was like mine andhave submitted recently please reply or Moderators please guide.
