Tier 2 Health Surcharge Refund and Dependent Applications

Post by raj_sharma » Tue May 09, 2017 8:31 pm

Hi,

I will be applying for my Tier-2 G visa next week (from UK).

My current conditions...
- I am in UK ( on T2 General)
- All my dependents are in UK (on T2 General Dependent)
- I have paid NHS health surcharge for my new born daughter in Dec-2016

New conditions
- I got conditional job offer from new employer ( same sector and same soc code)
- I have received CoS copy (Tier 2 (General - Changes of Employment - ISC liable))

my Questions
- can I apply myself in premium alone and later on for my dependents in normal process? applying three applications in premium is quite expensive and my employer is reluctant to pay for anyone. I will be paying from my pocket.
- will i get health surcharge refund from my daughter ( which was paid before for when applied in past).

please let me know your expertise thoughts on this. I find this site very useful and authentic. I am sure I will get useful inputs from here.

thanks
raj

When do your dependents visas expire?

You have to pay for IHS with each application you make.

thank you for your reply.
my dependants visa is valid till Dec-2019.

I agree I have to pay IHS for everyone. However I have already
paid for my daughter. Not sure if IHS paid with past applications
will carry forward or get refund

No, IHS does not get 'carried forward'.

Your dependents DO NOT have to apply with you if you are changing employers.

Thank you. It is very useful.

My dependent visa is valid till 2019 (as per my current T2 G visa). Now I am switching employer and will be applying for new T2 General (myself only) next week.

is there timeline to apply for dependent visa ( post applying my visa as a main applicant and getting it approved from UKBA)? Can I apply for my dependents in next 2-3 months. Will it be okay?

Thanks
Farooq

I don't think it is valid statement. I am changing employer
and I think I do need to apply fo dependent as well.

Lets wait for other people to comments

Many people have done this, your situation is not unique. Your dependents are wholly dependent on YOU not your sponsor. See the link below, which still applies.

uk-tier-2-employer-sponsored-visas/when ... 98586.html

Feel free to change their visas then and waste the money but you will have to pay IHS again.
