OCI application based on spouse's OCI

My wife has received her OCI recently in 42 days through Birmingham. I have applied for my OCI based on her OCI (spouse's OCI) and was told at Birmingham it is easy case just based on marriage certificate. I am now waiting 47 days from acknowledgement date and no update other than status UNDER PROCESS and "Referred to the concerned authorities in India". Any idea of the normal time scale for this to be completed?

The guidelines says it can take anywhere between 6-8 weeks. Has there been any queries raised since you applied?

Nothing received except the status online. I did contact VFS Leicester but they couldn't add anything. Just said to keep checking the Status online.

Just to update, since my last post have now received status report "Processed", dispatched from New Delhi and received at Birmingham. Now ready to present at Leicester.

Actually, still waiting for docs to be received at Birmingham from Delhi. Do the documents (file) actually go to/from Delhi or is it all done online?

The physical OCI booklet/document gets sent from Delhi. It should arrive at your UK centre soon.

Doc received Birmingham today. Visit Leicester for final stage Monday. Total to date 51 days.

Very pleased to say received my OCI today by courier. That makes total application time 59 days.
