Tier 2 Visa English requirement

Hi All,

My partner is applying for her Tier 2 general visa from India sometime next month for a Nursing job in UK. We have some doubts with regards to couple of requirements. It will be much appreciated if someone can help us understand the requirements better.

1. English language requirement:

The UKBA guideline says

You can prove your knowledge of English by either:
passing an approved English language test with at least CEFR level B1 in reading, writing, speaking and listening

Does anyone please tell me what test does she need to take from India for this , is it IELTS or IELTS life skills? Because this is not clear.


2. Provide a criminal record certificate from any country you’ve lived in for 12 months or more in the last 10 years, if you’ll be working with vulnerable people.


She was a Tier 1 general dependent from March 2013 to July 2017 in UK, does she need to a Police check from UK like a enhanced CRB and one from India.

She does not need any thing from the UK.
