Priority visit visa Istanbul

Hi everyone

My inlaws went for their 2 year visit visa to Istanbul on Monday 21/8/17 and paid extra for the priority service but we received an email on Wednsday 23/8/17 saying that it will take longer because "We are unable to resolve your application within these customer service targets, as the processing of your application has not been straightforward. Please be assured that we will continue to progress your application to enable a decision to be made as soon as possible. We will notify you via e-mail once your application has been decided." which I think is runish because they've been to the Uk twice before and have a US greencard too.

Has anyone else had this and how long did it take to get a decision?

Which country's visa are they applying for? And how does applying for a visit visa have anything to do with the EU referendum?

The email is a standard email, many applicants get it for various types of visa applications.

Thanks for the quick reply. Does it mean that they still aim to make a decesion within 5 working days?

No it means they WON'T make a decision within 5 working days, which is why they sent the email.

Thanks, any idea of how long they take? It only means that my inlaws are stuck in Istanbul.
