Application Forwarded To British High Commission On:

Supporting Documents Sent To Sheffield On : 17/05/17
Supporting Documents Received Back From Sheffield On : 11/06/17
Sponsor Contacted By UKVI (if applicable): Not yet

multiple Emails and calls made. At first they said I will get my decision by 28th of July 2017. Nope.
Than they said I should get it before 9th of August, 2017 since that would mark 3 months. Nope.

I will email and call them tomorrow to escalate my case. I lived in England for 6 years before submitting this case, I have known my wife for 8 years before getting married. She is a junior doctor in NHS. 2X the salary, rented own place. no dependents. The case is pretty strong I don’t know what is going on.

***UPDATE August 21, 2017***
More follow up emails and calls were made. Our application was ESCALATED on 18 August 2017. They said we should get our decision in 15 working days. As what I have been reading from this forum, those people don’t know squat about what they are talking about.
A letter was sent to MP as well last week.
Online tracking link still says “GWS not recognized”

***UPDATE August 25, 2017***
Still the same Status.
The MP already contacted the Home office on our behalf. Still not response.
Today marks 78 working days from the day I submitted biometrics.
Online tracking link still says “GWS not recognized”

pplication Category: Spouse (Non-Priority)
Application Submitted Online: 27-April-2017

Biometrics & Passport Submission (Date):28-April-2017
Application Forwarded To British High Commission On: 05-May-2017.

No response what so ever, called and emailed but was told to wait.

The case was escalated by call center on 25-July-2017... No response was told it can take up to 15 workings days

Called again on the 15th August (after 15 working days).. was told manager has taken details and another 'Urgent' escalation has been done... should expect to hear back in " less than 10 working days"... Absolutely useless... Asked to speak to a manager, however, they suddenly all had a managers meeting so no one was available.

The Lady on phone said we are experiencing delays from pakistan..to which i replied, doesn't make sense as everything is done in Sheffield so what is the delay from Pakistan... She said we are only a call center and that the only information we have!

Called again on 23rd August. the person on the phone said we only have one escalated case for this application which was on the 25th July.... hence the utter crap about 'Urgent' case on 15th August. Asked to speak to a manager but same old excuses about busy/meeting. In the end decided to hang up the phone after arguing for over 20 min.

Local MP sent a letter last week as well so waiting on a response! hopefully soon...

So far no correspondence about application delay or anything. Just recieved the first confirmation when the application was passed to Sheffield.

Have sent written complaints to about 4-5 different postal addresses I could find for Sheffield and Lunar house, including the complaints department but no luck so far.

Is there anyone in the similar situation as me with application submission date towards the end of April 2017... Seems like priority application are getting responses even if they applied in May and June

I applied in good time thinking the response will come in 12 weeks so didn't think it was worth paying extra for the priority.... but seriously regretting it now!

Many thanks

Been 13 weeks no reply. Email sent chasing update and got the generic reply that it is awaiting decision. Online status check never recognises my gwf number don't know how people manage to get any update on there! It's always unrecognised for me. looks like it's going to be a long waiting game :/

Sponsor Contacted UKVI: Phoned them - response: awaiting decision. (Total waste of money as no real update at which stage the application was. Not sure, which HO processing time SLAs to believe, link in status check website says 95% within 12Weeks and 100% within 24weeks. VFS Center Lahore says 100% within 12 Weeks, Online calculator link says 100% within 60 days.)

Decision Made (As Per Covering Letter Issued By Home Office): No email yet

Decision Of Application :
Validity Of Visa:

28th Jul::: 60 working days (05-May-17 to 28-July-17) have passed since the Bio-metrics.

07th Aug:: 65 working days (05-May-17 to 07-Aug-17) No response whatsoever - not even an email explaining why there is a delay as per their standard policy. Its straight forward application (own a house, x3 salary, UKNARIC assessment reports, no immigration history) so frustrating! Please update your thread guys especially the people who applied in 1st week of May 17.

14th Aug:: 70 working days (05-May-17 to 14-Aug-17) still no response, called again last week Friday to check on the status since the escalation date 28th July, same answer application awaiting decision since 9th May. Not even received an email from this SITEL company that they have escalated my case. However, they said since you have escalated your case, it can only be re-escalated after 15 working days. Mrs. sent an email to home secretary from Lahore Amber RUDD. I've logged a complaint with HO at "complaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk" (Questioning SLAs & demanded numbers) and am most likely going to take it to the NEWS as 95% application within 60days is a F-joke OR some of us just happened to be the unluckiest remaining 5% whom has to wait 24Weeks. that's enough rant to Kick-start the Monday.

21st Aug:: 75 working days (05-May-17 to 21-Aug-17) still no response. Wrote a letter and hand signed it to home secretary and requested a response within 5 working days last week. also, sent copy of the letter to local MP and UKVI Sheffield office..

Did any of the May "non-priority" applicants especially from Lahore received their decisions last week.. If you could update your timelines either way.

29th Aug:: 80 working days (05-May-17 to 29-Aug-17 (minus x2 bank holiday) - Frustration at its peak but finally managed to make my voice heard through the wall only to find out "Get the F*** Back mate".

Received a response of an escalation last Saturday 26th Aug; very INFORMAL email (copy below) and not to mention they again breached their 15 working days SLA for response:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Due to it being our busiest period, I am afraid we are unable to make a decision on your application within our usual timescale.
Staff at the visa application centres or contact centres have no influence on cases and cannot provide any further advice so we recommend you do not attend or call the contact centre. Please do not go to the Visa Application Centre until you have received written confirmation that a decision has been made on your application and that your passport is ready to be collected.
We understand this will be frustrating to you and regret any inconvenience caused.
We will contact you shortly to update you on what is happening
Thank you for your understanding"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Received a response from MP as well on Saturday 26th Aug through post; he attached a copy of an email (dated 23rd Aug) received from the UKVI; and this time HO said, it has been necessary to carry out further inquiries which are remain on going; WHAT? If the further inquiries are being made then i should have had received an email like other people did before jumping up and down; but DID NOT. So two different response again (Escalation vs MP response); which suggests HO are just struggling or may be under staff or who the F** knows.. but they will not do anything about it and continue to make other people(s) lives miserable..
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
++ No response from legendary Miss. Amber Rudd yet even though requested a written response within 5 working days..

++ No response of the complaint yet from HO..
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Think some of us just happened to be the unluckiest applicants whom might have to just wait 6 Months. Not wasting anymore money, time or effort to chase UKVI again. Not worth it, would have been easier if they had just kept up with their own SLA(s); I hope all of these chasing won't bite back; even if you request MP, Home Secretary to expedite the case for a rapid decision; UKVI won't give a dam about it. Good luck everyone the next update will be once the decision have been received.

Hope some of you will find this ordeal helpful.

Update:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ugust-2017

Just found out 11,493 applications from Q2 are in progress as per UKVI news - Migration transparency data. Numbers made public on 24th August 2017.

Looking at everyone's timelines the standard response for priority is 10 weeks. I did ring up and that lady said I should receive it in 6 weeks, I asked if there was any backlog and she wouldn't directly answer but she just said you should have it by 6 weeks if not wait until 8 weeks. Inshallah we will get a response soon, the waiting is so hard!

I'm glad I did priority though, those who didn't have been waiting a really long time

Mr XXXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Email: XXXXXXX@yahoo.co.uk Our Reference: TO XXXXXXXXXXX
Dear Mr XXXXXXXX

I write in reply to your email correspondence of 2 August to the Home Secretary and the Immigration Minister about the Entry Clearance application made by your wife. Your enquiry has been forwarded to Customer Service Operations to reply.

Our records confirm that the Visa Section received your wife’s application on 20 April and it is currently awaiting consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer. It may help if I explain that prior to making a decision on an Entry Clearance application, a number of mandatory checks need to be completed in the UK and the applicant’s home country. The length of time taken to complete these checks is dependent on the individual circumstances of each case. Whilst we aim to decide all applications within our published service standards, in some instances applications may take longer as a result of these checks.

Please be assured that your wife will be contacted when a decision is made, or if any further information is required.
If you have any further questions, please contact us at: www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-inside-outside-uk

Yours sincerely

J xxx
