Hopefully all of us get them by next week.
What we should organise is a protest in front of one high commission somewhere in the world.

oh wait. We can't do that cos UKVI has confiscated our passports. Well played UKVI.
Passport belongs to ur country and its your identity. You can sue them if your passport is lost or damaged. At max they can ban you from entrying UK for 10 years.

Took to twitter and tagged sushma swaraj and ukhomeoffice. Request all to do the same. The more they receive the more pressurised they become to take action. Tag all news channels. Have done. Apparently worked for my friend too.

I had called them yesterday morning and they re-escalated my application as urgent. I called them again because quite a few had received decisions yesterday. They said there aren't any updates, but it shows as escalated as urgent.

Dear All,

I applied for my UK Tier 4 General Student visa from Karachi Pakistan.

Timeline:
24th July: Online Application
27th July: Biometrics/Interview/Documents Scanning
4th August: Email from Shefo; Application received at UKVI and is being prepared for consideration by ECO.
18th August: Email from Shefo; Sorry we couldn't make a decision in 15 working days and it will take longer.

I am still waiting for any other contact from UKVI

Course start date: 18th September

I have not called or emailed UKVI yet.
I phoned my university yesterday and they told me after some insistence that the decision hasn't been made yet.

Should I also call them and ask then mark my application as urgent ?? What is your suggestion?

This is what my university told meh .I applied on July 19th

Dear Avinash

Thanks for your email and enquiry. I have contacted UKVI yesterday but I have just spoken with our account manager today who has advised she will have it escalated with their entry clearance team as soon as possible.

As soon as I have any further information, I will be in touch. As a reminder, please do not arrange any travel until you have received a decision on your visa application, confirmed that the information on your visa is correct and that you have have received your passport and documents back.

Is there any possibility not receiving a SMS from VFS to collect the passport may be due to a system fault 😬.

Any case that got the visa (passport) when they go to VFS to check about the visa status, like a coincidence 😅.

If soo I'm thinking to visit VFS next week 😂

Is it possible that they don't update the tracking link and send the passport directly?
It is very possible. The online checker service is not accurate and not updated automatically. I have heard today from a friend who went to VFS office in Lahore for ad hoc inquiry on his passport arrival. The VFS staff said that many passports have come today so they checked his passport and it as there in this batch. He collected it with visa vignette on it.

The important factor to note is:

- Online application tracker did not update anything on visa decision.
- VFS Global staff did not call him to collect his passport
- No email came from any side about collction of his passport.

I think UKVI system is having issues or being upgraded which is one factor for delay in passports delivery. However it makes sense that all applicants should reach out to VFS centers physically to inquire about their passports.

UKVI wont give straight forward answer about the case, they always gives same and silly answer always.

Better double check with VFS. I'm done waiting for the decision.
Just two weeks left for course starting date and need to book flight and blah blah... 😩😠

Application submitted online: 4th of July
Biometrics: 7th of July
Email from Sheffield: 16th of July

Nothing from Sheffield after that and called twice only to hear that my case was escalated and is awaiting decision but still no progress :/

Looks like none of us who apply in early/mid july from Colombo have received decisions. Unbelievable

p.s - wondering if we could come up with a joint letter addressed to the high commissioner and FM requesting action? If so, we should organise this now and fast.
