I applied for my UK Tier 4 General Student visa from Karachi Pakistan.

4th August: Email from Shefo; Application received at UKVI and is being prepared for consideration by ECO.
18th August: Email from Shefo; Sorry we couldn't make a decision in 15 working days and it will take longer.
04th September: Called UKVI for the first time and they escalated the case.

Called UKVI several times and contacted my university too. Always got a reply saying that your case has been escalated.

13th September: Email from Shefo: The decision has been despatched to the UKVI office on 13th Sep and you will soon be contacted by the VAC.
15th Sep: Email and sms from VAC at around 3pm to collect my passport.
15th Sep: Collected my passport with the visa Alhamdulillah

Congrats Nabeel..could you please let us know what kind of email you received from Shefo mentioning that your decision has been despatched.

VFS email for passport collection: 18/09/2017

Hey guys!

As suggested by Rathodpr, i emailed the university asking about the status of my CAS. They said its USED. I hope this means a decision has been made. As I mentioned earlier, im not receiving any kind of updates from the embassy so basically this is the only information I have at the moment.

Im planning to call them tomorrow and enquire about my status. Just wanted to ask if there is something else that I can do other than this to know my visa status?

Btw.. I gave my visa interview at VFS on 12th September under priority. My embassy is Chennai, India

If anyone could give any further advice I'll be really thankful :)

UPDATE

I have received my passport today with vignette visa on it. I am sure that all students will receive their visas until and unless they have any BIG critical issue in their past travel history.

I am relaxed now as it took exactly 38 days to deliver me passport.

Wish you all good luck.

Guys I got my passport with the visa vignette yesterday 😀

Here's my timeline:

17th July : biometrics
27th July : confirmation email
13th September : decision made
18th September : didn't get any email from vfs so called them and found out that my passport was ready for collection
19th September : collected my passport

Finally. Thank you all. Couldn't have survived this horrible experience without you guys. And i suggest anyone who applied from vfs Colombo to call them once the decision has been made because you might not receive the "passport is ready for collection" email. Good luck. 😀

Hi guys,

have been following these posts out of sheer exasperation..I applied mid August and planned on traveling by the 20th September, so that i could be there in time! well, its been much longer, and the home office has still not processed my visa...

so here goes:

Timeline:
14th August- Online application
18th August- Biometric and documents
28th August- Recall to rescan documents
4th September- 15 working days delay email
12th September- Email from Shefo to send all documents again
13th September- call to Call center to get application escalated

20 september- now... no update, application still awaiting a decision.

I'm furious that I had to submit ALL of my documents three times, twice through Gerry's and once through email. I mean, literally a month after I applied, i got an email saying please send all your documents again, meaning that they didn't have the basic info up until then to make their decision! This was after scanning documents twice, mind.

Has this happened to anyone else? How do I confirm that they have my documents now? Why are they not making a decision? Btw applied from Lahore, Pak so don't have tracking services available..
