Hi All,

Im from New Delhi, India - Applied on 9th May 2017 - still awaiting a decision. Anyone in the same situation from the same city? Does escalation really help? I have requested for one today. How long does it take for them to respond?

Thanks
Simran

Hello Simran

Frankly, escalation doesn’t really help. I have applied on 03/04/17 from Mumbai. Still awaiting decision. It’s been more than 130 working days. Escalated 3 times, not a single word from ukvi yet.
Complained to UKVI. Raised issue with SOLVIT. contacted local MP. All without any success.

Good luck

Irfan

Hi guys, I am writing to my MP now. What did you include?

I suggest we all contact the bbc and push them to push Dianne Abbot further to address this problem.

Hello Irfan,

Thank you for the information above. I am sorry to hear about your situation. Its honestly ridiculous to make someone wait this long for an answer. I will complete 120 days in the first week of november. Looking from what you said, 120 days dosent really matter so im not expecting much :/

All the best.
Thanks again

Did anybody receive this email after 67 days of applying? .The waiting game continues

Thank you for your enquiry

As the processing of your application has not been straightforward we are continuing to work on your application and will make a decision as soon as we are able to. At present we cannot give a time scale for when a decision will be made. We will write to you again if there is any change to this.

Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection.

Kind Regards

Hi all,

While waiting for Family permit decision, is the passport held with the local application center or is with Sheffield visa section?

The passport is held at Delhi. I applied thru Mumbai.
VFS mumbai told me so. Once they get an ok from Shiefield the passport will be stamped and returned to Mumbai.

Question is how do we contact BBC. Does anyone have a source to escalate it.
As we are all goin around in circles. Calling and emails is leading us nowhere. Same response to all.
Not so straightforward is a nice way of putting off everyone.
Nor do we see any action from them to know that they are doing some checks etc etc

They give it to me since i use to send news and editorial pictures to them. But i guess many people have to write them to consider this as a news. Anyway good luck guys. This is the e-mail to contact all team of journalists from BBC. :

My lawyer has sent a pre action protocol asking Home Office to issue visa in 14 days. If not, judicial review will be lodged against this nonsense delay.

Hi All,

I received a reply from the immigration department after requesting for an escalation. This is their reply -

Dear Simran,

Thank you for your e-mail dated 10/10/2017.

In regards to your query We escalated your case to the relevant department. You should be contacted regarding your case within 20 working days from the date of escalation.

Please allow the 20 working days to pass before contacting UK Visas & Immigration International Contact Center again should you not receive any further correspondence.

Does it really take them 20 working days to reply to an email which was charged for? Has anyone received a reply sooner than 20 days?

Thank you for your enquiry

As we have previously advised, the processing of this application has not been straightforward. We are continuing to work on the application and will make a decision as soon as we are able to. Folks, before posting any "standard" email which you have received from the UKVI, please make sure that such email has not already been posted by someone in this forum.

At least, do not be lazy and go through all the pages, you will find some useful info.

Just wandering around on various forums. Became my daily routine ;)
This one notably [LINK REMOVED], re the avalanche of decisions.
The "Oct 31st" email was sent primarily to those who had biometrics before July.
Hi everyone,

My wife applied in Kiev on the 14th of August.

I have escalated application 2 times:

- on the 5th of September (after 15 working days);
- on the 3rd of October (after 20 working days from previous escalation).

All escalations I did via telephone calls. Never received any emails after.

Dear nufchavq, what is your situation and did you receive any emails?

I am wondering if they saved wrong email address.
70th day today, still waiting. To answer your question - no, no confirmation of escalation if you escalate by phone. However, they must give you a case number. Otherwise it means your case hasn't been escalated (I faced this situation once). In case you ask for escalation by email, you automatically get a confirmation email with the case number.
