Information on Maintenance funds

Post by santosh_katakam » Wed Mar 26, 2008 7:30 am

Hi,

I am about to apply for extension in anothe couple of weeks as it is expiring on 12th May and i currently have an issue with maintenance funds points otherwise i am ok with all other eligibility criteria. I am a contractor, have my own limited company, i am the director and I have recently bought a house in uk last december (four months before) so, i have spend most of my money and i dont have balance of £800 pounds for the past three month in my current/savings accounts. But i have enough funds in my business account for the past few months above £800 pounds. if i would have know atleast in december's statement of intent, i would have made sure to have some money for it.

1. is it possible for me to show my business account as i have enough funds to withdraw instantly as my dividends which is in one way a savings for me.

2. can i show my mortgage statement for the past three months as my mortgage is around £940/month which is oneway an investment or savings and i have been paying for the last four months.

i am in need of desperate help.

cheers,
Santosh

You can use your Visa debit card. isn't it Visa delta?

Enable,

The cover letter just contains what all documents that you've been submitting for yourself and your dependents including that for maintainance funds. It is quite straightforward.

If you are submitting same proof for maintainance funds, please mention on following lines
"
a. 3 Months(Dec-07/Jan-08/Feb-08) Bank Statements for the account no. XXXX (Account Type) as a proof of Maintenance Fund
b.These statements should be used as proof of maintenance funds for me and my two dependents.
c.Since 01 Dec 2007 till date, total fund in this account (account no. XXXX) has always been above XYZ GBP which is more than the required level limit of =ABC(800+X+X).

Can i use my VISA Debit card for fee payment. I used it for paying my Initial HSMP fee payment. The below in the guide lines is bit confusing

Anyone who payed using VISA Debit for Tier1, please advice

HOW CAN YOU PAY?
You can pay by any of the following methods:
• Cheque/Bankers Draft
• Postal Order
• Credit card - Mastercard or Visa (including Electron)
• Debit card - Delta, Maestro* (including Solo)
* We can only accept Maestro cards issued in the UK
Kapoor, I had already sent the application on 26th. But I didn't mention as you had specified but I said 'for maintenance funds please refer main application documents and bank statements'

Anyway I can't do anything now.

Did u then apply?

Enable,

Regarding maintenance funds cover letter, it should not matter as it is quite straightforward. I sent out my application on 18th and received a reference letter on 21st.

Just to add to the thread...

I'm on HSMP, currently applying for FLR under Tier 1

Posted: 4th March
Application Received: 5th March
Notification/Reference Letter Recieved: 7th March

Still waiting to get it back...

When speaking to the Home Office when I had questions at the time of my application, I got told "about 4 weeks" and also "6 to 9 weeks". Just have to wait really...

The fee for HSMP Extension is £350 or £750 under the so called Tier 1...

The sentence in the guidelines is confusing.

Just wondering if you could point me towards the FRL Tier 1 extension form(s) and guideline notes.

I'm planning to apply much earlier that the one month before expiry due to investing into UK property - I hope they don't mind!!

Cheers
