OCI renewal for new British Passport

OCI renewal for new British Passport

Hi,

I am planning to apply for OCI renewal for my 6 year old who already has OCI. She just got her British Passport renewed recently. So I understand we need to apply for another OCI stamp to go with her new passport. We are planning to travel to India in December. Is there enough time for us to apply? (The application will be form Birmingham UK).

What documents do we need for the renewal of the OCI?

Any input in this is much appreciated.

I need help with documentation. I have now got appointment booked for next Wednesday but from the website its not clear what documents do I need to bring at the appointment.

Actually it is not mandatory to have OCI in the new passport

Also my friend recently been to India with his daughter having same situation as yours. He followed what's in the link and no questions asked.. I am also going to do the same when i am going back in March.
Winning isn't everything, but wanting to win is.

My son went to India with the old passport with OCI card and new passport and had no problem.

Even i travelled to india twice with old and new passport for my daughter and had no problem.

I am in the same situation as yours. We need to travel in march and i don't have time to renew OCI.

Have you managed to travel with Old passport with U sticker.

OCI Travel Advisory – Re-issue of OCI Card (On getting a New Passport)

Re-issuance of OCI is mandatory every time passport is renewed up to the age of 20 years, and again after attaining the age of 50 years in view of frequent biological change in facial features in these age group.
