Registering your immigration status in Russia

Hi guys,

For people who hold a Russian passport as well as their UK immigration status, could you answer this please? (Sorry if posting in the wrong place)

The Russians have a law http://www.consultant.ru/cons/cgi/onlin ... 19989213#0that you have to make the Russian authorities aware if you have a foreign passport or residence ("vid na zhitelstvo")

I was wondering if anyone knows if this has to be permanent residence, or does any long term visa need to be registered?
