These links have very generic information. Anyone here who has switched visas? Can you please share what documents you submitted along with the form? Thanks in advance!

Suggest you do some of the legwork yourself. The first link I provided is the guidance notes which tells you what is required to apply for a Tier 2 General.

Sorry if I offended you with my response. I went through the document in the first link but wasnt completely sure as it says that some supporting documents might be requested.

My situation is that I will be switching along with my spouse and child who are in UK with me. As per my understanding, i would require,

1. Application form
2. Original CoS
3. My original degree certificate
4. Maintainence proof is my employer doesnt provide it in the CoS
5. Passport and BRP cards

I am curious if I will need to submit,
1. Rental Agreement
2. Marriage ceritificate.
3. Birth Certificate of child
4. Any work experience certificate

Not sure if I have missed anything. I am sure I will be guided by the employer but I am trying to get info beforehand to be well prepared as I foresee a major time crunch during the switch process. Hence seeking the help.

So start filling form now.

Can I start filling the form before I have a CoS? I am yet to get CoS. I am trying to do my homework so as to not struggle at the last minute for missing documents.

Does anyone have any experience with NARIC to get degree validated to prove English language competency? Is there a lost of Indian universities that NARIC recognizes?

My Engineering degree has "Medium: English" mentioned on it. Would i still require a medium of instruction letter or just the degree and transcript scan are sufficient?

If your certificate mention medium as English, you dont require additional letter from university to prove your medium of instriction as english

But you also need to get English Langauge assessment from NARIC....they will assess your degree to UK level

I submitted my degree and transcripts to NARIC for assessment. My degree clearly mentions the medium as English but NARIC guys have now come back and are asking for a medium of instruction letter :(. I am currently in UK on Tier 2 ICT looking to change to Tier 2 general. It wont be possible for me to get the medium of instruction letter :(. Is IELTS for UKVI my only option?

I am yet to speak to the solicitor and am doing my homework to make sure I am covered. Can someone please share their experience related to language requirements when switching from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 general?

Thanks in advance!

most of the universities will be able to provide a letter stating medium of instruction as English

also, remember NARIC guys can be wrong an overlook information sometimes. If your degree certificate states English Medium clearly, then call NARIC and ask them to connect to the caseworker and explain the degree certificate specify English medium

Simply do a SELT IELTS B1 or C2 test. It costs the same as NARIC.

Anyone here who recently switched from Tier 2 ICT (arrived before April 2011) to Tier 2 general who can guide me on the language requirements? Is NARIC/IELTS a mandatory requirement?

Posting my question here...

My situation is that my Tier 2 ICT established staff visa (entered UK before 6 April 2011) is expiring by end of February'18. I am in talks with another company for a switch but that process will probably only start by end of Jan'18. Meanwhile I am being chased by my current company to initiate the extension process for my ICT. I am worried that the switch will not be completed in time for me to resign and serve my notice period.
Going premium is an option but I have read here that sometimes it can get delayed which might put me in a position where I will have to resign without having a valid Tier 2 general visa in my hand.
One of the options I am considering is to extend my ICT visa and then apply for a switch immediately after I get my new BRP card. I assume the RLMT is valid for 6 months so that shouldnt be a problem. Is it possible to extend the Tier 2 ICT and then switch in the same year? Could someone please advise.

Apologies for starting a new topic @CR001

You can switch at any point provided you meet the requirements.

Medium of instruction letter is mandatory inorder to get NARIC statement. If you are go for NARIC, makesure the MOI letter should include the word SOLELY. what i mean is the sentence should be like this.
degree was conducted solely in english.

While submitting NARIC you should select red route. With visa application you have to either submit degree certificate or transcript. Check the Tier 2 guidelines for english language requirement properly.

Besides, it would be good idea to book an UKVI IELTS either general or academic. The requirement is only 4 for each band.

Hello...thanks to everyone for the guidance and advice. I was able to successfully switch from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General. It was done via premium appointment. I submitted my IELTS UKVI academic test result alongwith original passports and BRP cards. The process was pretty straightforward.

Thanks again to the forum mods for all your patience in answering my queries.
