Switch into Tie 2 Dependent into Tier 4 Student Visa

Post by sreddy111 » Thu Jan 18, 2018 10:51 am

Hi,
I am currently working in UK on Tier 2 ICT visa , my Spouse is also staying with me on Tier 2 ICT Dependent visa in UK.

She is planning to join a Postgraduate course with one of the universities in London.

Before we like to proceed with application, we have some questions which we would like to get clarified on this forum

- Can She switch from PBS Dependent visa into Tier 4 Student visa within UK or Does she needs to go back to Home country

- For the proof of funds, can I show my UK Bank balance and my employment

- Once she gets a Student visa, I would like to become Dependent on her.
Will I be able to work (Full Time Perm or Contracting) in the UK being Tier 4 Dependent?
Any restriction apply to work that we need to consider

Specified link says, "Switch from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 4 (General) student visa"

But Her current visa is "PBS Dependent LEAVE to ENTER" (Tier 2 ICT Dependent)

please confirm with this Visa category she can Switch with UK

This information will greatly help us in deciding and apply to the universities

As you can see, she is not in one of the categories who can apply for Tier 4 in the UK. That's what that link is: a list of who can switch.

Hi,

My wife has secured admission into one of the universities in London for a postgraduation course which will start early May.
We are currently covering the 28days period to prove maintenance funds.
Early March, she will be issued CAS and then will go India for visa stamping

We are planning to apply for Tier 4 Student visa first. Once visa granted, we are planning to apply visa for our child who is also on ICT dependent child visa currently.

The question we had is, are we allowed to apply for Tier 4 Dependent Child visa separately after the main applicant and before the main applicant enters the country.

we are not sure of the implications if both apply together as they both are on ICT Dependent visa since 3 yrs and now applying for Tier 4 visa.

Isn't Tier 2 Dependant free (e.g. no need for Tier 4 visa) to study in the UK?

May be true but my visa is valid only till July....however she wants to continue ger studies....so she wants to apply for Tier 4 separately and have the child as her dependent

Tier 2 dependent can study freely at any institution but pay international fees.

If the child is applying within the UK, then you need to wait till your wife returns first.

It's a misconception that Moderators are able to answer every question on the forum! We simply look after the smooth running of the forum (on a voluntary basis) and respond when we are able.
(Casa, not CR001)
Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Child will be applying from India but wants to apply once the main applicant (mother) gets visa then child will apply visa following week
