any update from anyone ?
None yet. Although I submitted on the 14th August, it was 6 weeks before my resident permit expired. I have been reading from others and it said they submitted 28days before.
I Called HO last Friday and they said it is still awaiting a decision.
Hopefully will be processed with the September group.
Right so as it appears ideally you should have applied by end of August ..... well I guess most likely we should get a response withing same week.... fingers crossed ..... on which phone number did u contact Home office?
Yea looking forward to a response soon. Don’t know if I am allowed to post contact details on here but it is the number that comes up in place of the old link under ILR when you try tracking application.

Is there anyone in this forum who applied between early August and late September with dependants who has recieved a response yet? Does applying with dependants take longer than single applications?

mine was 19th sep .... I think time taken depends on each individual case .... I have not seen many cases here on this forum taking more than 6 months and we are still within 6 months timeframe..... i know its nerve wrecking to wait like this..... but we should keep calm and positive and wait until 6 months time before we panic ...... ... however i am sure now ours is due now and should arrive any day !

Hello guys, I have been a silent follower on the forum since I handed in my application. All your contributions have kept me sane through the waiting. I decided to share my good news😄 so others are encouraged too.
This is my time line

Sent my application on 14th/09/2017
HO received it on 18th/09/2017
Biometric done 20th/09/2017
Received emails from HO every month on 25th
Approval letter received on 9th/02/2018
Waiting for biometric card....

It was a single application with no dependants.

I wish you all the best.. keep believing🙏🏽

from my observations it seems that
1-the only important date for figuring when an application will be considered, is the date by which the home office receives and logs in an application into their workload queue.
2-the date of biometrics is irrelevant as it just must be there when the time comes to consider the application.
3-it seems that there is a systemic (deliberate) delaying period in general and most application decisions are announced in batches. so that a certain percentage of all applications must be decided no less than 5 months - 1 week and no more than 5 months+1 week

i think an application is added in queue on the date acknowledgement and also I think certain teams deal with certain type of asylum cases and also country of origin .......

Some people get acknowledgement in less than a week and some in 4 weeks .... in my case my acknowledgement date was 21 days after receiving my application.....

Congrats
Seems that they did the sensible thing - of queuing your paperwork until the ‘within 30 days of leave expiry’ passed and then put you through - instead of bouncing your application for sending too early. Inline with CW guidelines I read for other immigration categories a while back :)

Thanks. Yes I think I would advise anyone applying in future too to wait until the last 30days as advised. The wait and thinking something had gone wrong was traumatic when in fact it was my own doing.
Thanks once again

hi all member active or silent i have find this in the CW guidance thats will be very informative for anyone who is applying or waiting for a decision.

3.1 Data processing team actions on receipt of the
application
The data processing team (DPT) will carry out the following actions:
 record the application on GCID under case type: Settlement Protection – ILR
 send letter ICD.4551 (combined acknowledgement letter and Biometric
Residence Permit (BRP) enrolment) to the legal representative or directly to the
applicant if unrepresented
o include enrolment sticker
o send within 10 working days of receipt of the application
 scan photographs of the main applicant and any dependants onto CID
 complete Standard CID Note for Data Entry
 forward the application to workflow to be allocated to a settlement caseworker.

so basically its the date on your acknowledgement letter when your application is queued into work flow.
