Got leyter from processing team 2 dated 9th feb 2018. they are asking me if i can provide residence card or any official documentation showing my legal residence in northern ireland covering a period of 2 years between march 2011 and feburary 2015. but the thing is i didnt had a residence between 2011 to 2015, as i was married to irish national and according to law i didnt needed one as a family member of eu citizen. so i got my residence card eea2 in 2015. i have no idea what shall i send now. i emailed them and told them the same thing about Uk eu law that i didnt needed one to proof my residence that im legal. Any help would be greatfull thanks alot.

can you please give details about solicitor please
I wish I could write it here but I am sorry it is against the rules to post solicitors names/addresses.

In my opinion you can contact any solicitor who deals with immigration matters.
can i send you personal message please

applicants waiting for 1 year / 2 years and then get requests like explanation on absence and proof of residence and re submission of orig passport these areas should be looked at on initial stage

reduction in citizenship approvals compare to 2015 and 2016

less ceremonies in fact this is the first time that its been 3 months since last ceremony and the date of next one is not announced.

it only started to happen very recently.

those guys are time waster i think if the say its because you second stage has been completed...

Now you are on the queue of approval. I think they keep sending them out until march beginning. depending on how people who get approval respond to the fee payment request.... i think its still happening!

I think you could be considered for the next ceremony. Last time they continued sending approvals till three weeks before the ceremony. Did they mention when it could be submitted to the Minster?

I see they rolling now a lot of approvals for many people applied in 2017 - anyone got approval yet?

My timeline:
Applied: 21 Oct 2016
First letter & passport: 1 week after
Second stage: Feb 2017 (last year!!!)

Nothing until then :( every time I email or call get the same canned response you all know!

Please update!

The best option is to seek legal advice. I applied in Aug 2016 and my application was not moving a bit ever since. I met a solicitor and after his letters to citizenship my application has been submitted to minister and now I am waiting for decision.

I made a number of calls but to no avail. I even went to my local TD three times but same standard copy/paste response was sent to TD as well.

My solicitor sent a letter in Oct 2017 and I got response after 3 weeks that my application is being prepared for submission to minister. After 5 weeks in Dec 2017 my solicitor sent another letter asking for an update but no response. He sent a reminder and got response on 12 Jan that my application has been submitted to minister and as they get a response they will let us know.

So if someone has been waiting for more than 1 year and they still getting standard copy/paste responses, in my opinion they should seek legal advice. I know it will cost you money but at least you will get a proper response from citizenship.

I hope it will help someone.
hi have you got approval?

It seems that applications submitted from people who are residing in Northern Ireland are the ones that seem to be taking so long mots of the ppl who applied in 2016 and still have no answer seem to be northern Ireland applications. I applied in Aug 2016 and still waiting

You need to know that those people are sitting on some others approval.

Even if the the so called minister approved it . They wont tell you on the phone "hey you approved" until they decide to Send the letter to you.

I tried to ring them on the but I couldn't get through, can anyone tell me the number I dial from the UK? I tried fiddling about with the number dropping 0 and got a ring tone but some woman just answered it and said hello not a formal greeting like hello citizenship dept, the line went dead after that.

Emailed today to see any progress.

Got this reply

Your application is currently being prepared for submission to the Minister
and  you  will  be  informed  of the Ministers decision as expeditiously as
possible.

Regards

Citizenship Helpdesk
Team 4

Now this is first time they have emailed and not said that they can't tell me how long it will be as each application is different and it also doesn't say that if any more info is needed they will be in contact.

I'm keeping fingers crossed.

Hi Folks,
Any update from those who applied in 2016. I have called the citizenship office yesterday and they said that they are preparing the application to be sent to the minister. Anyone in same situation? Do you think that we have chance for the next ceremony.

Good, at least applications are moving. I think that we all should get approvals together. Don't know if they will consider us for next cermoney despite I don't see any reason for holding our applications any longer

OK Guys. My solicitor sent a letter to department asking for the status of my application. He received a letter today from department reading the following.

I acknowledge your correspondence received in this office on behalf of the above named client.
A more substantive response will issue to you in the near future.

Are they going to send out the decision soon? What is near future? A month or so?

Thanks
