Successful ILR experience

Post by Aarya » Tue Feb 27, 2018 2:33 pm

Hi everyone,

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone on this site for their useful suggestions and for being so helpful for every question asked.
I never registered before and could find answers only by reading various topics.

Now that I have received my ILR I thought I should share my experience which might be helpful for others who will be applying soon.

ILR
Category: 5 year route (British Spouse) Set M form
Premium Service (Glasgow) - 16th Feb 2018 - Booked my appointment online on 11th Jan 2018

First entry to UK: 5th March 2013
Extended VISA received: 26th November 2015
Valid Until: 18th May 2018
Would have completed 5 years in UK - 5th March 2018 (so booked my appointment for ILR within 28 days of completing 5 years in UK)
Application approved same day - 16 Feb 2018 and biometric received by post within 4 working days.
My appointment was at 12:00 and got it approved by 3:30 pm

Document list:

1. Completed Application Form (left payment page blank on app form because I already paid the fee when booking premium service)
2. Printout of payment page and checklist
3. 2 my photographs and 1 for my husband
4. My Passport
5. Husband's Passport
6. My Biometric Card
7. Life in UK (I gave it back in 2014 - this does not have any expiry date, so it's valid)
8. English Test: Trinity B1 level exam (Even though I cleared IELTS general in 2012 and used that for my extension visa also but still gave B1 Trinity again just be 100% sure) Don't wanted to risk ILR application for another £150.00
9. Last six months bank statements (joint name)
10. Husband's Naturalisation certificate
11. Husband's Indian passport surrender certificate
12. Marriage certificate

Finance:

1. Husband's 12 months payslips (they ask for 6 months but I still gave 12 months)
2. Husband's last 2 years P60
3. Husband's Employment Letter
4. My 12 months payslips
5. My last year's P60
6. My employment letter

Even though I earn less than £18600.00 and I was relying on my husband's salary - still I gave job details for both of us. And I did mention that I am relying on my husband's annual income

Cohabitation (joint names):

1. 3 months bank statements each from 2016 and 2017 (joint account)
2. House: Land registry papers - joint owners
3. Last 3 years council tax - joint names
4. Gas & electricity bills (3 months statements from 2016 & 2017) - joint names
5. Mortgage statements - joint names

Cohabitation (individual names):

1. My Driving License
2. Husband's driving Licence
3. Election voting cards - individual names
4. Car insurance papers - husband's name
5. virgin TV- my name
6. HM Revenue - individual names

** I TOOK PHOTOCOPIES OF EACH AND EVERY DOCUMENT LISTED ABOVE. EACH PAGE OF PASSPORT, BANK STATEMENTS ETC.) **

The person who checked my documents was very impressed seeing photocopies of each document/each page.
I also took hand written list for my reference actually but he took that also from me saying it will help them to check docs and their photocopies serial wise.
They returned all my originals and kept all photocopies.

Once again I would like to thank everyone involved in this forum - you guys are doing a great job and it is so helpful and reassuring.
