Hi All,

I will be changing my visa category from Tier 4 dependent to Tier 2 General.

In January 2018, UKBA issued a wrong COS to me (Unrestricted COS) even though my emloyers clearly started that I am on Tier 4 dependent when applying for the sponsor licence. My employer have applied for the Rcos immediately on 2nd Marck 2018 (as soon as i got the letter that my visa has been denied due to wrong cos)

i have checked the Allocation of Rcos from govt website (https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ponsorship)

each month they have special block in which they mention number of rcos issued to
Tier 2 (General – Tier 4 dependant switching to Tier 2)

My question is : do UKBA have special quota or give preference to Tier 4 dependent moving to Tier 2.
My points are 33.

really appreciate your help.

thanks

As per my knowledge there is no special quota you have 33 points and you will have to get an RCOS through points based system.

We're not allowed to post external links/articles but there's a story just posted that says that the government/immigration minister has essentially dismissed calls for an increase in the cap. So if anyone was hedging their UK plans on this being raised in April I'd probably re-consider.

That they won't do it. If they can exempt NHS from the quota it will help a lot I don't see even that happening.

But if they can borrow some from other months and try to clear the backlog to some extent would be really great hope they atleast do that. As per the guidelines they can borrow up to 100 when. The min cut off has more applications.

Hi everyone ,

My employer has applied for rcos in Jan, Feb and now in March . My salary is 40k per annum . Is there any chance of getting rcos in march/april.

Also my understanding is 40k = 40 points.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, 40points in March is not acceptable from my perspective. Try in April..

I have been offered a conditional employment contract and my application is in for March. The salary is listed as around 31500 and in a separate section it mentions a london weighting of around 2000. Is the total salary with london weighting included as the salary for points or the lowest one.

Additionally my position is for 35 hours per week. I read somewhere that the salary for points in based on a 39 hour week. Is my salary therefore increased to be equivalent to 39 hours?

I know my chances are low but have my fingers crossed for March :)

Guys, none of us can tell you whether you’ll get RCoS or not.

Going by previous months if your job is on the shortages list or you have a salary you 50k+ you’ll have a chance. Anything lower than that very unlikely this month.

I wouldn’t be making any travel plans yet though even if your salary is over 50k. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

From my immigration specialist comment here : Below 50k (50points) will not accept in this month.

Furthermore information, you can find the previous thread in Feb/Jan.

My score is 45points (45K) and I hope in April will be okay at least between 40 and 50 points.

I didn't apply in this month, but I hope there is some magic situation. Best luck for all of you.

I've got same score, and didn't apply in this month. Very limited quota and don't expect to get the RCOS who applied under 50k. But I wish you will get a good news.

Hello again everyone. You guys started this month's thread early. Nice to see everyone again and some new people too. My shortage occupation post did not work out. The hospital pulled out at the last minute but my old hospital was happy to take me back. They also confirmed that they would use my gross salary this time around (48,925 pounds). I am not hopeful at all for this month's allocation because of the abysmally low number of CoS compared to the previous months but I do hope that the score stays the same so we have less of a backlog to clear in April. Wishing everyone all the best nonetheless for this coming Monday.

I'm sorry to hear that Plabber_123 but I guess the positive is that hopefully if you wait a little longer you will get your visa working in the speciality you actually want rather than some people that have had to apply for specialities they didn't want as a last resort to get into the UK faster.

Hi All,

I am on 32 points, with RCoS refusal for Dec, Jan and Feb. Employers are only submitting this round because it's the last month before their RLMT expires. Have pretty much accepted the fact that I won't get it this time, but fingers crossed anyway, especially since I am sure they will give up after this!

Good luck to everyone else trying this month!

Hi everybody. Nice to see you all again. May we never have to see each other on here again someday!

30 points, non shortage, refused in Feb, trying again for March pessimistically. I was on a tier 4, but my employer's sponsor licence wasn't approved until just SEVEN days after my visa expired. I packed a bag and was sent on a flight with next to no notice. I didn't even get to say goodbye to my flatmates, because I never imagined I wouldn't be coming back. Anyone starting to rethink plans? I'm starting to worry that it's not just a matter of waiting anymore, but that it might not ever happen. I think I can manage to control my depression induced by this situation until May's allocation, but after that I think I'll need to move on.

Apologies for the rant. It's just... it's been hard. If anyone out there feels the same, know that you're not alone in this.

Hey Shebahanaa, hang in there. The main reason this happened was because of the NHS winter crisis which lead to a mass recruitment of overseas nurses as well as a shortage of CoS' owing to the end of the financial year. From April onward the score should gradually come back down to normal since there are a lot more CoS available and hopefully the nurse recruitment subsides.

And feel free to say whatever you need to say over here. Im sure nobody minds.

I feel ya! It's hard to know how long to keep trudging on for. It's been said here before but being in limbo is not fun. I'm 30 points and non-shortage as well - refused Dec, Jan, Feb. Fingers crossed this is resolved sooner rather than later!

You got this!
