@Birmingham06,
Did u track the date they receive it?

And what last date did they indicate to you on the questionnaire to be back with the caseworker?

I remember mine had a pending date. And they received it two days before the pending date.
@smallpie. Hi, my questionnaire got there 1 day before the deadline and sent a second correspondence 2 days after the date mentioned. But this has been more than a week now. I I said I couldn't get most of the paperwork to prove I was being supported by my partner and red cross. I'm tracking the return envelope I provided for my documents to be back at my adress everyday but it says pending.

@Birmingham06, you should hear from them this new week.
Normally all the ones I read forum get approval within one week, including mine.

Mind you, the weather has affected services all over lately. Maybe that's why it's late.

All positive mind, approval this week for you ☺
They mite not use yr prepaid envelope tho..

I received an automatic text message from HMPO saying: we'll contact you by 23/03/18 if more info or an interview is required. No further update on progress will be given. My question and confusion is why did they started on the passport pack if the citizenship hasn't been granted? Is this just a normal way of doing things, My understanding was that no one is going to look at the passport application until we are granted citizenship and attended ceremony. Does it make sense? Thank you and hope that someone can offer some advice or reassurance.

It is an automated text. It does not mean your citizenship is approved or not.

No if you post the applications yourself. You then have to do form AN and after ceremony the passport.

@ bathroom11, hahaha.. ( homeoffice staff)
Am just as normal applicant as you all.
I had my obstacles too, during my application but with the help of this forum, it put me in line and directions to see things other ways. ( I did all my applications myself, no solicitor involved)

And with the gap on my immigration history at somepoint, I was panicking about breach of immigration laws. Some professionals even told me, I will be definitely be refused on good character grounds.

But i took the risk and well worth it now.
Happy chappy, as well as u guys too ☺

Congratulations you all, let's start enjoying the British life. Hahaha.

@ khlid,
I see some cases on here in forum, they got refused with the mix up from HO, ( between the acquired date of PR and the physical issue date)
Maybe it depends on the caseworker who looked at the application, and got it wrong.. and some had to apply for reconsideration, ( if I remember right, some got approval after another waiting game)
You can look into such cases here on the forum, and guide your self with it.
If I see any useful link of such, will point it out to you.

It could be, try call HO and enquiry this?

And if u still wanting to go ahead to apply, you can include the PR letter showing date you acquire it and also a covering letter.

Regarding the gap in your immigration history, In my opinion, you will be okay. It's a lawful gap, ( you have done the right thing at the right time) and seem error by the HO. In the application form, you can simply put NO, to the breach of UK immigration laws.
( that is what I put during mine)

I hope this helps, hopefully others and the top bags of wisdom here, will also respond to your request.

Hello mate in my opinion apply after one year passed from the date on the card so if the date on your permanent card written date of issue is march then apply in march if date of issue September then apply in September forgot about letters and date of marriage and all these things look at the date of issue on the card

My 2nd advice from your history looks like going to be very complicated surely it will take time because there were arrests and some rejections in your history I don't want to scare you but I am sure there going to be long delay and questions best case scenario for you the will send you this questionnaire 8 questions asking about how did you maintain yourself during this illegal stay 24/11/2011 and 11/4/2012 so be prepared for the battle but you will win at the end if you have all of your evidences and good luck

@ khlid, Yes, correct by bathroom11. In my opinion too, I will strongly suggest you wait till one year of the issue physical date of the PR card. I wouldn't go by the acquired letter date. Cos of some issues I av read on this forum, they applied with acquired date and later got refused.. ( to much of hassle and time wasting to correct error by HO).

As per the gap, I think you will be fine. Put all the correspondences relating to the matter together, if they send you questionaire, then supply additional information and docs to them.

HEllo,
Please help me as I am confused. I applied to British citizenship 3 months ago and the money fee hasn’t been withdrawn even though the home office confirmed to have received the application. I’m really worried because I don’t know if it’s normal for them to have the application and still not have taken the money. Please what should I do?

@ issy11, would be best to call HO to confirm about the payment worries.
They would be able to tell you, if they av not charged you yet for your application.

In my opinion, that's what I will do first.

All the best.

Hi guys,
Just a quick question.
I applied on 23 November 2017 but never heard anything frm HO. Yesterday i emailed them and received a reply today saying “ Thank you for your e-mail. You will be contacted by post within 21 days“

I just want to know with your experience, this reply means they will be asking for more information or they will send decision.

Thanks in advance for your time and reply

Good luck
