Can I apply for dependent visa while I’m holding independent Tier 2 ict visa ?

Hiya,

Myself and my husband holding Teir 2 ICT long term (3 years) visa applied after 2011, and working for the same organisation.

Please help me by answering below queries:

1. is it possible for me to become dependent on my husbands visa?
2. Is there any cool off period for switching to spouse visa?
3. After obtaining Dependent visa am i eligible to switch to Tier2 general visa?
4. Is there any constraints in switching, other than sponsorship from employer?
5. Do i need to serve any cool off period to switch to Tier 2 general?

3. Yes, but only 12 months after you have held a PBS Dependent visa. You have to apply tier 2 general from your home country.

4. RLMT needs to be done before they can issue a CoS for Tier 2 general, mainly to prove you are not 'pre-selected'.

Yes you are free to work for any employer.

While I’m holding ict Tier 2 visa can I apply for tier 2 ictdependent visa ? Will my dependent visa override my previous visa ?

1. Yes you can apply
2. Once you get Tier 2 ICT dep visa your ICT visa will be cancelled

After getting dependent visa can I apply for tier 2 general visa ?

Yes you can apply but please remember you can only switch to Tier 2 general once your cooling off period is served (12 months from the date you were last granted ict visa)

Cool off is calculated from the end of the ict visa or from the start of the ict visa last issued ?

Cooling off period is calculated from the date the dependent visa is issued/granted.

For Tier 2 General after the cooling off period, you have to apply from home country.
