I applied for the renewal of TD
Date of application 10/01/18
Acknowledgement of application 06/02/18
Still waiting for TD I am getting worried as I have a holiday booked for 09/05/18. Looking at the timeline for other people commenting 3-5 months. I cant find a number to call and track as it says not to book holidays before getting TD. I expected a renewal to be quicker. Any advice anyone Im stressed?
Hi

Unless you are travelling for urgent reasons it maybe best to postpone the holiday if this will will save you money. If you are travelling for urgent reasons you can email them or write with supporting information and they will consider expediting your application.

Hie guys, I’m new here. I have situation which goes like this. I applied for my TD last year in June. I’ve emailed HO on 3 occasions chasing up only to be told not yet done. I sent an email on 25th January 2018 specifically to change my address, so I emailed to chase up again last week, and the reply came today stating that the document was posted on the 21st March but to the old address. I’ve gone to the old address and the man who lives there now said he put it the letter box and wrote return to sender. When DX delivered they just posted they didn’t even require a signature, which is very weird of , I rang them and they said that the HO didn’t instruct them to obtain a signature. I’m very angry by all this and don’t understand why Home Office would acknowledge that they will change address, and simply don’t do it, especially when it concerns a document so important. So I’ve emailed again, to let them know that I never received it, has anyone ever experienced this before and what happened ?

Hey,

I am sorry this happened to you.

Did you apply for your first time TD in June 2017? It is quite surprising that it took so long for home office to process your application. (Almost 10months) Usually applications are processed between 80-90 working days! Have you actually chased home office as to why it took so long for them to send your documents?

Thanks

Hie,

I did actually chase up my application with the a total of 3 times since I applied. I kept getting told that some applications are more complex than others.. and obviously they won’t reveal what the actual complex issues surrounding my application where.. I’m very frustrated right now, like after having waited that long and then now the document is pretty much lost somewhere now

It’s so bizarre so how come they issued your first TD and you are facing the so called complication in your re-newal?

Hi everyone,
Thank you for sharing your experiences. I recieved my ILR just before the New Year. I waited 7 months since I applied. Absolutely frustrated to realise that I had to apply for a new TD separately. Five years ago when I applied for my first TD, it took almost a year.
Also shocked that I had to send back my original BRP to the HO. I do not understand why HO couldn't update the old TD or issue a new one at the same time. Neither do I understand why they want to see the original BRP that they have jsut sent to me.
I have been unable to travel for more than a year now. So many opportunities I have missed. Not to mention how much I have suffered from the miserable weather of this island without a break. The people at the HO simply do not care about us. This should not take them more than a couple of weeks to process. The rest of the time is wasted on the que, which could have been avoided had they cared more about people's lives.
They have all the info they need about us already. That ridiculous requirement of sending a certified photo! For God's sake. They have got all the biometrics and photoes they need as part of ILR application. They really disgust me. Anyway, enough of complaining. My timeline:
  • Online application submitted: 23/12/2017
    Original documents sent: 2/1/2018
Recieved acknowledgment letter and BRP: 20/1/2018
Now waiting for up to 70 working days, which means 102 days in human life!
Hey,

I wonder if you’ve received your TD?

Many thanks

Hi everyone.
I applied for my first travel document 24th January and got a letter from home office with acknowledgment on the 20th Feb. Does the 70 working days start when I sent my application or from when they replied to me ?
I hope it comes soon I hate the waiting game.

Hey,

If you applied by post the 70 days from the day they have received your documents.
If online then 70 working days starts from the day they have received your supportive documents.

I am early December and still waiting, let’s hope you get yours in 70 working days.

Good luck

Dear All

I have received my BRP (ILR) Today and next step is to apply for travel document.

Can you please advice if I have to apply for Blue CTD or is it Black Travel document for the ILR? Also, do I have to send original BRP with it or a certified copy would serve the purpose?

Looking forward to your help.

Thanks.

Hey,

I think if you used to have a Blue TD then you would apply for a Blue one.

I didn’t send my original BRP as it says in the form as it is the only original document I have to prove my ID.

If you do it online the system will give you a checklist. Just stick to the list and send nothing more.

Good luck

Hi all,

Has anyone heard from Home office? I have started thinking they aren’t issuing any TD at the moment. Today I have been waiting for 86 days!
