Tier 2 to Spouse visa

Post by mmicky5050 » Sun Apr 22, 2018 9:39 pm

Hi

I am currently on Tier 2 visa and have been here for 6 months. I am planning to marry my long term gf who is a British citizen. My salary is above the 18.6k cutoff. She is graduating in September and has a job offer starting October again above the18.6k cutoff.

Can I apply to switch to a spouse visa before she starts based on my current income?

Thanks much.

Yes your understanding is correct. You can use your income alone to fulfill the income requirement. Apart of that you & sponsor must have uncrowded accomodation, A1 English test etc. Also remember that after 5 years you can apply for indefinite leave but you can't add the time spent on tier 2 for that purpose.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

is P60 critical for this application? I started the job 6 months ago and so P60 shows yearly salary as below below 18.6 cutoff. It does not specify the start date of the job.

Do i need to attach P60 with the 6 month payslips?

thank you

No P60 is not 'critical'. Payslips and bank statements are.
