Switching from Tier 4 (DES) to Tier 5 GAE - Urgent

Hi,

I am currently on Tier 4 (Doctoral Extension Scheme) and want to switch to Tier 5 GAE. Is it possible to submit my application inside the UK before the expiry date of my current visa or I have to go back to my country and apply it from there?
