HMPO text message

Post by Lalonde » Thu May 03, 2018 1:45 pm

I received the following text message today by HMPO

We'll contact you by 24/05 if more info or an interview is required. Do not book travel until your passport is received.

I applied for citizenship using JCAP on April 3rd.
Does this mean they’re definitely asking for more info and that’s a warning? I will be out of the country 17-21 which isn’t that long and I cannot change for this. What should I do?

This is a common text message. It is unlikely that they will contact you for more information or an interview.

Go about your business (including the planned trip) as normal. If (big IF) HMPO were to contact you, they would give you a couple weeks to provide the required information or arrange an interview so your short trip is not going to change your situation.

After a month, they’ve just taken the passport fee out of my account (and simultaneously sent that text). Does this mean my citizenship has been approved?

No just standard procedure. No indication of approval.
