Spouse visa - financial requirement with children

Post by talktonight » Sat May 12, 2018 10:06 am

Hi there,

I am applying for my fiancee's spouse visa soon. She's Russian, I am British. I understand that a minimal financial requirement for me to sponsor her is £18,600 PA. I am providing payslips and bank statements for 3 months where the total amount earned during 3 months is more than £18,600.

Question - I have a child from a previous marriage, and we are about to get officially divorced (wife & child also live in the UK). I am going to support my child financially. Would this affect my new spouse visa application and do I need to earn more than £18,600 PA? Or is this rule only applies if we have any children with my new spouse?

Please advise.

If the child is British or settled or if you are not applying for child's leave, then there should be no effect.

No effect at all, as they only care about income and not how much goes out for expenses.

3 months payslips and bank statements are not suffiicent. It is mandatory to submit a minimum of 6 months of each.
