Question - if your job has been advertised as a range ie £40,000-35,000 does this mean that your points can be calculated off the higher amount? Or do the points get calculated from the exact salary that an employer is actually offering a particular candidate?
your points are calculated on the exact salary your employer mentions in your application and not the range advertised in RLMT

FYI - May 2018 allocations have begun.

After 5 months and two failed RLMTs...

I just received a call from my employer, and they received my RCoS today.

Point total is 75
the cut since dec-17 has been 56 points, not sure why you didn't receive RCoS earlier

Quoting because people some times don’t read through every page.

39 points. Have been applying and have been refused since December 2017. Let’s hope we all get some good news!

They said that their RLMT was done incorrectly twice. Not rejected due to points.

Although this looks likely given the pattern maybe let’s not worry people/ruin their hopes before more of the allocations because nobody actually knows with any certainty what will happen.

So under the Freedom of Information Request,a solicitor website states 2,118 application were rejected in April 2018 . I think its not much big of a backlog for Home office to clear and start reducing the PTS .

hope the solicitor's view is wrong and we can expect a reduction. the applicants in shortage occupations is key considering in april all the ones over 50 have been approved. I get a feeling based on the survey around 500 to 700 are in the 45 to 50 range and if there are only 1000 people above this cut off then only the rest have a chance . if 2114 were rejected in april and 25 to 30 pc are in this range hopefully let us hope and pray no other choice now but tense moments till friday this week

I've found some (somewhat) helpful info. This excel sheet was information issued from Home Office under freedom of information act - it shows how many were approved/denied in each band of points. Sadly it looks like the numbers are only going up :(

This is so good not the news wise , it says 1041 applications are pending in 40-45 PTS assuming new 100 applications comes in and only handful drop out due to RLMT expiry or employers denying to retry its 1141 applications to be cleared which is 57% of allocation allotted . No other option to wait and see

Thanks for this, very useful. So in line with my previous estimates....about 600-800 people will be on 45 points in the May application cycle. Interestingly May last year saw the fewest applications so hopefully it will repeat again this year and more can get through.

The data shows the challenge: applications with 60+ points has overall gone up over the course of the past year, leading to lesser number of certificates available for those below 60.

This link to the spreadsheet from HO seems incorrect as it states that December 17 there were certificates granted below the 55 point mark, the Minimum RCoS points for December 17 was 55 (as per gov.uk site), so how can this sheet show certificates granted for anything below 55?

Yeah the December '17 data is really strange. There was nothing granted b/w 41-54 (except for 1 at 50??!) but below 40 some were granted and some were refused.....how can that be??

Also see 50 points in March '18. 4 certificates were granted but all others refused.....wtf?

I know very strange! Shows though, it is wonderful having these sites to look on but you we won’t know anything until the home office releases figures on their site..

This is proper data from the HO though. The letter and other material on the solicitors website confirms as such and the rest of the data is also exactly as predicted/estimated.

The numbers may look a little weird for dec but as you can see from the link it's official home office correspondence based on freedom of info act, so who knows!...at least it's a guide for where numbers are at more recently. Ultimately let's see how things go this week.

I know someone who was on 45 points in April got approved on Friday. Whether her company increased her salary (45k) or not I don't know. But she definitely got approval on Friday and was asked to submit the visa application.

Friday 11th May 2 days ago. Application refused since February with 45 points (45k salary). Again I don't know if the salary increased in May to secure the approval.
