UK visit visa help

Hello every one.
My friend recently applied UK visit visa from Dubai. He is Pakistan national
He recently renew his passport and his name on passport showing as Nadeem but his previous passport, all his supporting documents his Name showing as Nadim. There is speeding difference
And he said no in application where it was saying if known by different name.
He managed to obtain letter from consulate of Pakistan mentioning correction of the name on passport.

Can he go ahead with application to apply for Visa
Passport and supporting documents have different spellings on surname

The reason for change and the supporting letter from the consulate must be provided. Explain in additional details section and a cover letter. He should also write he has used different name before.

Might be easier if he re applied for a new passport with correct name.
