Renewing long expired Greencard from outside the US

Post by jdzeuro » Sun May 20, 2018 9:52 am

I exited the US with a long expired Greencard {15 yrs - yes I know :| ) with the thought that I would not return anymore. My mum turned 80 in the UK and I thought I may return to be closer to her etc...
My partner has a property situation in the US that requires her to be back in the US for an extended period and of course I would like to be there with her.
I have been absent from the US for only 7 months, therefore less than the 12 month cutoff date for renewal.
Do I just file an I-90 renewal here in the UK, pay the fee and hope for the best or what else do I have to do to proceed?
I am a British Citizen.

Thanks,
George.
